Don't be silly, you know fictional characters can't buy football clubs. Although my sources tell me.....

Latest news just in: the businessmen Murray turned down last time are now in the running...

Wee dug syndrome. Makes a lot of noise, but just to compensate for its lack of size.

Aye, the tonic As I got older though I started drinking the non-taurine laced stuff too. I didn't like it at first, though a bit more than beer. Good wine, though - even just decent wine - is properly nice and thoroughly addictive. Once you've got a taste for it, it just doesn't go. Like opiates :spl: You do have to persevere with it though. P was the same - she hated it for ages and ages and then eventually it just clicks. It's good to have a madwaeit hing that's also subtly flavoured. Hendricks gin is still my favourite drink though, after Absinthe! I'm no expert. I'm with Dylan Moran - there are two kinds of wine. The stuff that makes you make a funny face and shudder, and the stuff that you go "Mmm, that's good". I just get whatever the oldest bottle year is for the money I have with me and it usually works out to be the latter Australian wine's not bad at all. The very second the mortgage doesn't eat every bit of my pay, and the overdraft I'll hold you to that though Ach, this thread's been about everything but football. It's been hi-jacked, retaken, re-hi-jacked and re-directed via a non-extradition country. I don't think we've sullied it too much. Imma go sleep for an hour before I get the final bit of this fecking essay done. Good to have you back on the boards man.

I love wine, man. You're too kind. Sometimes I like just choosing a random region of France and having whatever wine and cheese comes from there, they always complement each other when they come from the same region, and sometimes I like Buckfast. There's just no limits to the good wine does. You still away out east man?

You never know! Wabash is a war hero though; I think the only bullets DM is ever likely to dodge are from creditors if this recession does any more damage to the property market:D He could maybe PM you some of his wine though, to have instead of the beer. My essay-writing's going so poorly I'm thinking of bypassing the lovely bottle of bombay sapphire i have in there and going straight for the crack pipe :spl:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Basically the answer is that people don't know what they don't know about whether Ellis is or isn't or has or hasn't bought us with varying degrees of certainty and uncertainty and are willing to berate each over it

That doesn't even begin with a T.

What's TMS?

I think it's natural if a deal has been done that it be announced pretty quickly. Thought it was posted on Monday. My mistake

Actually I mind when we went down to see Brum I could drink. I got to the wee bit and said "Is that whiskey, you can buy and drink now?" They were like "Uhm, yes?" It was amazing. I was so drunk though and hadn't been to sleep for a few nights. Good times! :spl:

I've always wanted to get into cricket. The idea of a sport you can drink at sounds amazing :spl:

All this talk about 'he just says things are bollox' versus 'he brings energy to the debate' is just sidetracking the thread. I just think discussions about discussions are no use and end up going round in circles. I was just asking people to stop commenting on, critising and defending a poster's style rather than discusing the topic at hand. No warnings, just a simple request that we just stick to the football and leave all this focus on personalities behind, or keep it for another thread. There are rules we all vaguely abide by and that should be enough. I know you see the evil hand of authority everywhere, but I wouldn't have expected you of all people to find much to object to in that sentiment
-
One man's "Respectfully, I'm skeptical of what you're saying" is another man's "That's bollox". To one politeness is just nonsense ornament, to others lack of politeness just shows lack of common courtesy. The House Rules emphasise just generally being decent and constructive and if people don't abide by that they get warned etc, no matter if people decide to think it's pathetic and heavy handed. If everything were nicer than nice it would be boring, but if everything descends to petty name calling and point scoring, then it brings everything down for everyone. We'll try and strike a balance and move on. So let's draw a line under discussions of posting style, and get back to the little matter of the club's future. We are now a week on since the deal's alleged completion and there has been no confirmation. Takeover or not we seem to be in a slightly better place with some money confirmed for signings and WS signed up for another year with CL football secured. I think if we don't get a buyer now we never will. I have to admit, after the euphoria the it's-not-happening (at least right now) crowd look most right.

They say memory's the second worst thing that stops working when you get to the age you can call grown men sunshine :fish: I reckon yer memory's not so much failing as selective - aw there and wee bit mair, eh auld yin?

I think it's fair to say, whatever the reasons, WS has cannily positioned it as being about money. He'll know a big part of the charity shown to KB for what he lacks is that he's portrayed himself as a Rangers man. I'd personally keep him regardless. I show charity for what he lacks because all the rest of it makes up for it, but even then I liked that he was a Rangers man. Now that WS has said this, KB can either be a Rangers man and re-sign, or not, resign and go for the money. There is no easy way out for him, as with instability, where he gets to be both. There's nout wrong with moving on for money, or to try something new though.
-
You're prevaricating about not accusing people of lying
-
Am I the only one hoping this is a power play by WS? He's putting it out there firmly that KB is motivated by money ahead of love of Rangers, and hoping he'll prove him wrong?
-
It's all a conspiracy! Down with the establishment!

Interesting the more time's past since the initial buzz, the more it has evened out. Assuming wabash is in the latter category, the its-not-happening-as-sscgers-outlined group has the bigger percentage share.

Rangers ahead of Wigan Athletic for Cardiff hero Ledley
bmck replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Does it appearing in the paper, with our signing philosophy, not mean it's less likely to happen rather than more? -
GRRR there's always one. :box: In games of speculation there is no fence sitting option. Zero sum game. To abstain from saying yes is to say no. It's not a game about what you think will happen, but whether you believe the speculation. It's less like waiting for Christmas and more like a hot horses tip.

P has always wanted to live in the sticks, far away from the corrupting influence of civilisation: kilmarnock should do her fine :spl:

Bought house / Council house, it matters not. Yer homeless if it doesn't pan out man. Thinking of sending my wee Bengal to colonise the Duth from your house if you lose on behalf of me and Britain. He'll need the boat :D
