I think this is the phrase that BD thought was referring to him, given he was the only person to make comment on the style and that you failed to actually say who you were talking about. You said people felt like they were being attacked. I dont think anyone felt like they were being attacked, just sensibly asking if it was them your comment was aimed at. Who are these people hankering after style over substance anyway? Even then, why should substance and style be in competition? Doesnt seem like too much to ask as people who set themselves up as spokepersons be they the rst or whomever.

Naismith has been poor, he really has.

I suppose if attacks were aimed at individuals rather than the mysterious "some people", people would know when to be defensive.

I don't agree with a lot of the Vanguard Bears outlook, but I do like that they do something rather than nothing.

I think it's an honestly great article.

Shut it or we'll riot, shut it or we'll riot (to the tune of what a load of rubbish).

Tony Mowbray thinks you can win and play football. I hear he's out of a job

What manager's going to come to a club flirting with administration? We're lucky to have WS, even though he's not perfect. I've honestly no idea why people would want to swap success for a delusion of total football.

I bet he was selling the ones left over from P's bag

Self interest is at work all the time. Like labour want to concentrate on 'substance over style'. Why? They know their man's not big on style, so they want people talking in terms that suit them. But we're used to that with politics because it's really clear what everyone wants. With this whole saga too many people are working to agendas that are particularly hard to fathom. We don't even clearly know who is working for who. Big companies are easy - they just want profit, so it's fair to say Lloyds will be working with a uniform view of getting their money. But it's hard to know their strategy because we don't know if it suits them to take the fire sale approach or bide their time. Similarly, all the parties involved know about the confusion and will portray the other parties in the best way that suits their interest. Because there are so many unknowns all the fan can do is sit looking puggled. I fear someone with big enough character to take over our club won't have limited self interest, and those with limited self interest wont be big enough characters, so we'll be minor characters in this minor epic until new people want and need our money.

I would be tempted to throw all the weans in against Celtic - 'this is what we could be bothered throwing out against your piteous lot' - but that won't happen. It would be good to see some get a run. I think it's possible we will see the shape of the team next year in the next few games.

Danny, reckon you've still got a bit to go before you can say 'I told you so'. But it's getting nearer.

Getting simply the best to number one is less trivial than moaning about how trivial it is to get simply the best to number one. -
I honestly don't think Neil Alexander is in McGregor's league. He is adaquate cover, and probably an adaquate keeper, but nothing more, ihmo.

Think this is a really good point and one I hadn't really considered. When every game isn't do or die there's more scope for creativity and developing players - especially young ones.

I get a kids' size top so don't get the sponsor if it's alcohol. Looks retro. Love it.

I'm with Danny on this. It isn't slagging someone off to criticise them. The difference is register, and Danny didn't seeem to be slagging off anyone. I'm not sure, though, that I would call Walter wrong on Gow and Buffel, or Rothen for that matter - they've, none of them, went onto anything. ETA: It also isn't adding too much importance to your own opinions to disagree. Everyone thinks they are more or less right, so they're not going to speak as though they aren't.

The bottom line is that we already have several threads dedicated to this topic in which this can be discussed, anyone who wants to can continue it there. End of story.

As has been said a million, million times before: if someone has a problem with a moderators decision they can feel free to contact an admin. ie: myself, frankie or craig. this isnt a democracy, but we are fair and approachable, but we arent having threads about threads. this is now locked.

I have nothing but respect for you in doing this. One of the best things in a while. Bloody well done. -
I'm quite happy to go there, having already won the league. Just send out the kids to show how unimportant they are!
