Damnit, you replied too quickly To be honest I havent seen that many pretty obvious attacks but I dont read that widely. I think most people would be consistent enough to qualify any praise or criticism, though.
-
I think thats the whole point to be honest; when you are a pundit you get judged on what you write. It would be fuckle to say "I hate Hately as a person" when he writes something bad, and "I like Hately as a person" when he writes something good, but no-one here actually knows him, obviously - we only have access to him via his opinions - if his opinions are good, then all is well, if they arent then he is talking nonsense. Thats not fickle, its just opinion-consuming. I think its right to judge people differently in their different roles. Immense player for us; good or bad pundit depending on what he says
-
Depends whether I like what he has written
-
I would imagine in the time between the two statements he heard two people with contrasting strong opinions and echoed.
-
I find DJ embarrasing. Can't listen to him at all. I don't think he knows what he's saying till he's said it.
-
I think it's because he's a fairly honest, quite simple guy, and the press are devious and sensationalist. He doesn't have the gravitas Walter has, and the people he's talking to are just sharper. Being ill-adept at managing the press is a bad trait in a manager for a big club (well, kinda) though.
-
I can see his point about the press, to be honest. I'm not sure he's meant to respond to the questions being asked other than by saying "Yes, we're shite" "Yes, I might get fired" and who's going to say that when you have to motivate a team? That said, it's fun to watch.

Too late Jimbo!

Doubt, legally, he can answer questions on the takeover.

You done a better job than Keanu Reeves. I think once you play the don't-the-second-team-fans-always-do-this card, the corollary is that the first-team-fans always complain about the second team fans doing that. If one's a natural consequence of being second, the other's a natural consequence of being first. I also think the major difference that Frankie's alluding to is that Celtic fans aren't just moaning, but systematically trying to influence games and effectively accusing a whole institution of sectarianiasm. Moaning is natural, but that seems to go slightly further for me.

Too well written to be read by the people who need to hear it most.

Then why don't they have new contracts? Am I missing something? Do we just not want to give them new contracts - or they don't want new contracts - and this is a it-couldn't've-been-avoided play for the fans benefit or something? Honestly puggled here...- 129 replies

Murray doesnt decide the market value of the shares. He can decide what price to sell his at, but not what the market values the shares (in terms of rising and falling) at. If directors could decide the price of the average traded share then i doubt you would seem many sp falling.- 129 replies

Refs have had it in for Celtic for 50 years, claims Hoops legend

This is amazing. -
There are always morons, but I think it's the stupidity of it I find most offensive. It's even more confused than the pope/palestine dude.

My enjoyment for the bracketed portion of this sentence constitutes some sort of undiluted reverie.

Cool, cool. Not to carry it on. Just so as you know why I think its quite important. McGregor has an affair or whatever and the paper says "Scandal! Big news!", and I think "not really, just let the guy live his life". Then they say "This is awful, isnt it? Truly awful" and I think "not in the scale f things, no more awful than the reporters who have had affairs writing the story, and the people who have had affairs reading them". You might say "But it reflects poorly on rangers" which you know to be true, and thats harder to disagree with. But the only reason it reflects poorly on rangers is because of the power of the same press that made a nonstory a story in the first place. What does an affair do to rangers without the press? Absolutely nothing. They make it have an effect by making a big deal f it. Even if I think, what you sensibly think, that McGregor should keep the heid and should stay out of the papers, the press benefits because it justifies their having made a big deal in the first place. And so the thing goes on forever. By participating in it at any stage, you make sure that Alan McGregor cant benefit, you cant benefit and rangers cant benefit - the only winners by caring at any stage are the press, and I really hate them. Anyway just so as you know.

I was really more talking about people who want to Take A Stance on McGregors private life like Danny did. I want to know if he will fit and ready for our next game, because he is one of our star players, but I dont want to know if he winched some gangsters burd and that caused it. To put it another way, it makes sense to me as a crime story, or as a sport story, but I just think celebrity "scandal" stories are nonsense when they are in newspapers.
