  1. The question for me is this. Would the two of them have turned up for training next day if the police hadn't been involved? You have to assume they would have. They broke the rules deliberately or in ignorance but either way they would almost certainly have put the entire footballing operation in jeopardy and that beggars another question. Has this happened before - perhaps many times, perhaps with other players involved - but not come to light because they were never discovered? Whatever the case, the possible consequences are so severe that this is one occasion where deterence is the most important aspect of punishment and both Edmundson and Jones should be released from their contracts immediately.
  2. Unless there's been an obvious standout performance elsewhere, I tend to look first at the midfield for MOTM candidates. Sunday saw no one emerge head and shoulders above the rest. There were no real failures, no catastrophic errors, but equally there were no hat tricks, no goalkeeping heroics, no blinding wing play. So I look at overall contribution as opposed to stellar displays. Which is why Arfield, Kamara, Davis, Jack and Aribo tend to get my MOTM vote so often. Against Kilmarnock we saw Davis and Kamara rested and unsurprisingly Aribo ran out of steam well before the end. I found it hard to separate Arfield and Jack and in recent weeks Arfield would have been hard to refuse. This time however, I felt Ryan Jack made the greatest overall contribution to the result - work rate, passing accuracy, positivity, key tackles, off the ball movement, aggression - and is hopefully on the road back to his best form.
  3. All it takes is one bad apple ..........
  4. A very bold reshuffle. I like it. Will Morelos or Itten play on the right? Are we looking at 4-4-2?
  5. I'll know what I think only when I see the team selection
  6. Agreed. My reaction to the whole Castore/Newcastle issue is "who cares". As long as it has no negative impact on what the Rangers board, staff and players achieve then, frankly, I couldn't give a stuff. Castore isn't Rangers, it's not even part of Rangers. My only concern is Rangers - not Ashley, Castore or anyone else.
  7. The wording "The Celtic statement added: "With regard to the allegations regarding historic abuse at Celtic Boys’ Club (which, so far as we have been made aware, relate to the period prior to 1997), although Celtic Football Club is a separate organisation, we take these extremely seriously because of the historic contacts between the two organisations." has been used many times in the past. It's clearly important to them but I've no idea why?
  8. Kilmarnock 2 Rangers 4 FGS - Morelos
  9. D'you think they'll do a fat bastard version? Not that I'd be buying it of course!
  10. That was f**king careless
  11. Maybe we're becoming spoiled by some recent performances but I didn't think we were too bad tonight The first half was all broken play and frustrating but the second half showed that greatest of sporting qualities - resilience - and we left the field with another European scalp. We've come a long long way in the last two years.
  12. I’d also get Jack on for Davis. And have Aribo primed too. This isn’t working, need to change it soonest.
  13. Sorry but last week’s hero has been dreadful so far. We need Alfie or Cedric on at half time.
  14. Ryan Kent already had a day off last Sunday ?
  15. It's so reassuring to find there is still some joy in the world.
  16. So long as it turned a better profit to do so, I'd have a Rangers shop on every corner.
  17. Well, that's f*cked it
  18. Rangers 1 Lech Poznan 0 FGS - Morelos
  19. If they had any idea how much joy this sort of thing brings to every Rangers heart. In a few months we could witness the greatest comedy routine in human history.
  20. Hagi can be better than Ozil. He lacks the experience yet but as well as the talent, Hagi also has the work rate that Ozil too often lacked.
  21. There were no stars on Sunday. It wasn't that kind of performance from the team. The main contributors for me were Ryan Jack and Iannis Hagi. While Jack's game is about reliability and consistency, Hagi adds the mercurial flair that makes all the difference against bus-parkers and for that reason he gets my vote. A worthy mention too for for Filip Helander, who rarely puts a foot wrong these days
  22. Hagi is already a vital part of the team. He brings an inventiveness and vision that just wasn't there before he arrived. The problem is some fans expect the same success rate as other players who only try to make safe passes. Personally I think we have an absolute gem in Mr Hagi and one day we will make a great deal of money from selling him. Until then we should savour a great player in the making.
