Agreed, Bill - the bastards part of my comment was driven by the Rangers situation and my own personal dealings with HMRC. The incompetent part was driven by my professional dealings with them.

Having had dealings with HMRC at work and on a personal level, I've concluded that they're a set of incompetent bastards, from top to bottom.

It's not really an opinion. No one knows if it effects the players. Supporting the team for the whole match is being a real supporter. Leaving early isn't. That's a fact.

The issue is more to do with us doing our job as supporters than how the players react. Support your team until the final whistle. No Surrender (unless I can't be arsed).

Why would you leave early when the game isn't decided? Folk care more about getting a pint than supporting the team. That's the crux of it. Having said that, I agree with Bill that the players should be able to do their job regardless.
