One thing has been overlooked. The scum are on an incredible run, if you disregard their game against us. It's difficult when your rivals are humping all before them.

We haven't reacted well to international and Winter breaks during Gerrard's tenure. That, to me, is odd. And it is worrying.

I disagree. I thought he played some nice stuff but the players around him did little to help. He has walked into a side that isn't firing on all cylinders (maybe not even half of them).

I actually feel sorry for Hagi, walking into the current malaise.

He could've earned a second yellow, also for diving. As you say, he just isn't very good at it. He has looked out of sorts in 2020.

I'd be happy to win the league with 1-0 victories. But we have shown we are too incapable of holding on to 1-0 - all the points we've dropped recently have come from winning positions. I'm a big fan of 'go for the throat'.

A major gripe for me is our willingness to settle on a 1-0 scoreline. We keep doing it. 1-0 and we're happy to drift along. It's not good enough. We don't have good enough defensive players to do it, for starters. Secondly, we don't convert enough chances of our own to do it. Our main rivals are humping other teams regularly, so why can't we do it? Even if we can't, why are we happy to sit on a 1 goal margin?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not even angry after that tonight. It's more of a vague depression. But sacking Gerrard would be ridiculous.

Kent did nothing. Morelos did nothing. The referee saw nothing. The league is over now.

Quite happy with the first half performance. We just need a bit more luck in front of goal. Katic and Goldson have played well. Kent and Morelos are both off the boil. Arfield needs to keep shooting.

I'd play Flanagan before Halliday. I don't think Aribo is at his best in midfield either, unless he is regularly making forward runs.

I wonder the same thing when I see Scottish youth sides up against opposition from England or mainland Europe. Is late development genetic amongst Scots? Are we just a bit smaller and skinnier? It does look that way.

I doubt it'll be pretty. Victory is essential. I'd drop Kent and play Aribo and Hagi in behind Morelos but other than that, agree with your starting XI.

0-3. Good goal. As rbr says, they just have some better players than us.

Patterson is up against Riquelme - a great way for the lad to learn because that boy is a class act.

0-2. Another goal soon after kick off. The defending was a bit ropey.

HT 0-1. We've played some decent stuff - Mebude and Kennedy have some real pace about them. You can also see why Patterson has been in the first team squad. AM just look a more mature side though. Their best chances have come on the counter attack and their positional sense seems better than ours. Riquelme (sp?) is easily the best player on the park. Our central defenders seem at cross purposes (do we hoof it or play it on the deck - they seem unsure which they prefer).
