  1. You obviously know footballers better than Walter Smith, so I'll bow to your greater wisdom.
  2. If the deal was done before Whyte bought Rangers, why should Rangers be held responsible.
  3. Highlights on BBC now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/scotland/17424935
  4. First smile for a while with the football.
  5. Can you expand on this? I have my worries, but have no experience of Administrators.
  6. He would have been better keeping quiet and let the investigation run it's course. Down the line they will get their way, another decent mans reputation tarnished. Wonder who is next on their list.
  7. After the Met Police and the phone hacking, I'm not sure the Police are the ones to investigate journalists.
  8. Not sure there was anybody else for that position yesterday. These type of players are invalueable at the present time. He comes over as a true supporter.
  9. I think we will be dealing with the last 18 months for a long time.
  10. St Mirren have rejected an approach to take over the club by current director Ken McGeoch after it was made through Rangers' company secretary. And Buddies chairman Stewart Gilmour hopes that the community-based group led by Richard Atkinson is moving closer to firming up their takeover. Correspondence on behalf of McGeoch came from Gary Withey, who remains Rangers' company secretary after Craig Whyte's takeover of the Glasgow club. The link left Gilmour uncomfortable. Continue reading the main story â??We remain optimistic that a deal can be reached with the current boardâ? Ken McGeoch St Mirren director "We've no proof that there was any proposed deal to take over St Mirren that would involve Rangers," he told BBC Scotland. "But the whole matter immediately raised concerns from the consortium about the future of St Mirren. "We were alarmed to see the approach came from the company secretary at Rangers, as their lawyer. "We realised that they were representing Ken McGeoch and Paul Davies to buy us out and that immediately raised questions for us. "They had asked for a list of things before even making an offer, which we found a bit uncomfortable and strange." Withey, acting for Collyer Bristow, sent correspondence declaring interest in St Mirren The approach came in January, the month before Whyte put Scottish Premier League rivals Rangers into administration. The Scottish Football Association has since ruled that the London-based businessman is not a fit and proper person to own a football club. However, Whyte is still insisting he remains and will remain Rangers' owner - and this week Sir David Murray said he regretted selling him the Ibrox club. "I think the expression used this week by a man I respect highly is 'being duped' by somebody and we were trying to ensure that we were not duped by anyone who didn't have the right interests of St Mirren at heart," said Gilmour. "To our knowledge, the deal had died a death. "Yesterday afternoon, we received intimation for another London-based company, surprisingly enough, that they were going to be acting on behalf of them very shortly. "Our agents in Glasgow have immediately responded, saying that the consortium does not believe it is in the long-term interests of St Mirren Football Club to be having any discussions and we don't wish to take any further the discussions with them." Use accessible player and disable flyout menusGilmour said that talks had intensified in the last 10 days with Atkinson and that it was hoped that the "fans' co-operative" could firm up its plans by the end of this month. However, businessman McGeogh insisted that his own bid was not yet dead. "Collyer Bristow, a well-known and highly respected firm of solicitors, were recommended due to their specialised expertise and knowledge of football clubs," he told BBC Scotland. "My colleague, Paul Davies, and I worked with them for a number of months to advise and oversee our prospective bid for St Mirren. "This relationship ended by mutual consent in February and we are now being advised by another firm of solicitors. "We remain optimistic that a deal can be reached with the current board that will benefit St Mirren and bring long-term stability to the club."
  11. The bids will all be subject to the CVA being agreed. I would say we have received NO concrete bids so far.
  12. Anything Whyte had a hand in is a no-no for me.
  13. Who checks the Administrators?
  14. BH Thanks for the info. Personally I would have written to Bennett first.
  15. I await with interest. The big hitters will be the in the 'billionaire Craig Whyte' category I expect.
  16. I get this picture of 2 grown men with steam coming out of their ears, banging keys with a finger.
  17. You have said it a lot better than me. Remember the Ref was conned when McGregor saved the penalty against them last season. What was said after that one .. . zilch. In fact if Rangers had missed the penalty after Conroy gave it, I could bet Conroy would still be a ref.
  18. Whether he was conned or not isn't the point. If refs that were conned were to be denied games for that length of time, we wouldn't have any left. They are conned every week, just not by Rangers players.
  19. Now tops 6 figures. http://t.co/RstNEyO3 RANGERS fans have given generously in the opening days of the Rangers Supporters Assembly's Fighting Fund initiative with the total already topping £100,000. The 'Rangers Fans Fighting Fund' allows supporters to make cash donations that directly affect the club now and will go a long way towards helping secure its future. Since its launch on Tuesday donations have been pouring in from fans across the country and beyond with a six figure total already reached in less than four days.
  20. I think this sums it up. 'Steve Conroy quits refereeing after not being given a top flight match since he awarded Aluko a penalty'
  21. PAUL MURRAY has joined forces with a team of financial big hitters. Fans will also be asked to contribute £1000 a head to help the Blue Knights save their club. Murray, who was vehement in his opposition to Craig Whyteâ??s takeover, has been working overtime to attract investors with financial clout. He has won the support of former Rangers boss Walter Smith and the three major fan groups, making him the preferred bidder in the eyes of most Bluenoses. Murray this week revealed to Record Sport that Scots motoring tycoon Douglas Park and big hitters John Bennett and Scott Murdoch, financial men based in London, were the first to join his consortium. Former director Dave King also hopes to become involved, subject to SFA approval. They were joined yesterday by Scots businessman Ian Harte, who already invests heavily in youth development at Rangers, Paul MacKenzie and Brian Phillips. Mackenzie is the chief executive of Kilmarnock-based Mackenzie-Hall, one of the UKâ??s fastest growing debt recovery firms. It was sold last month to US company PRA in a deal worth £33.5million, nine years after it was founded by MacKenzie. Phillips, who trained as an accountant with KPMG, is the chief investment officer at merchant bankers GCP Capital Partners. Murray has also secured the backing of investment firm Ticketus, who have been tainted by their £24.4m deal with disgraced Whyte. However, they insist they are now willing to provide â??substantialâ? working capital for Rangers and renegotiate the terms of their previous deal with Whyte. Murray said: â??Itâ??s time to change the ownership model of the club in order to make it sustainable. We also have to recognise the club is in crisis and requires substantial investment. â??If we are successful we plan to have a widely based share issue inviting participation from supporters. We will form a strong board with representation for all shareholders in a controlled fashion. â??After everything that has happened I want as much governance as possible to provide the necessary checks and balances. We will provide more detail in due course.â? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22. Conroy has resigned as a ref. Another 'victory' for the scum.
  23. Is he in the Blue Knights ?
  24. Well if he is living on his savings, what he is getting per month is going to his mortgage etc. The point is he could have left, and as a free agent got another club at the same or more than he was on.
  25. I think it has a Glasgow connection.
