  1. Brentford Head of Analysis Neil McIlhargey describes his work when speaking to Bees Player from Florida training camp Brentford’s Head of Performance Analysis said he was extremely lucky to work with a group of players and two managers that embraced the scientific approach to football. Neil McIlhargey has run the analysis department at Brentford for the past three years. He worked under Uwe Rösler and current Brentford Manager Mark Warburton, who appointed him to the Head of Performance Analysis role when he was Sporting Director. Neil, speaking to Bees Player from Brentford’s pre-season training camp in Florida, said both bosses used analysis as part of their managerial styles and the players were on board as well. Neil travelled to Florida with Luke Stopforth, who has covered the First Team with him for the past two years, to do analysis work on the training sessions. “We are lucky to work with the players we do,” said Neil. “After every game they watch all their involvement. “Luke cuts up the video so players can watch on a Monday or Tuesday. “They can watch all their involvements. “These players are keen to take on board everything the manager and coaches say to them and we can play a part in that. “The players embrace everything and we play a part in that. “Both managers I have worked with here have taken on board everything I have given them. “They use analysis as part of their managerial philosophy. “We can meet and fulfil their needs. Neil explained his role within the Club and how his department has grown. There are now six staff working on covering matches and teams in the Academy up to the First Team. “We analyse all the players from First Team down to Under-Nines,” said Neil. “We analyse the teams we are playing next, the opposition and players that are coming in. “Last year we ran a work experience programme and we sponsored students through their Performance Analysis MSc. “They have all come on board with us this year.” Neil and Luke will cover every First Team match between them. They report to the manager and coaching staff at half time and immediately after the match before doing a fuller analysis of the game. “During the game Luke films it and there are certain things the manager and the coaching staff want to see,” explained Neil. “We record when that happens and why patterns of play are successful or unsuccessful. “We can feed that back at half time or when the game is finished. “We take 24 hours to turn around all the information for the team debrief on a Monday.” Neil explained how he worked in the days prior to a match. “The build-up to the game is busy as we produce reports and videos for the coaching staff and players,” he said. “There is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative information. “Everything from the general statistics seen in a newspaper – possession, shots, territory – and more subjective tactical analysis and strengths and weaknesses. “Once our game is finished we analyse our game as soon as we can. “The in-depth work can run through from Saturday night until Monday morning.” Read more at http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/news/article/neil-mcilhargey-quotes-14.07.17-1756408.aspx#jqYOW0IXKSdPPqWR.99
  2. FORMER Rangers chief Charles Green and oldco owner Craig Whyte have appeared at court today. The two are among seven charged with fraud and organised crime relating to the purchase of Rangers in 2012. The two were seen entering the High Court in Edinburgh shortly before 10am. It was not clear if the other five have appeared in person at court. Imran Ahmad, the former commercial director, joint administrators David Whitehouse and Paul Clark, along with Gary Withey and David Grier are also facing trial. They are accused of conspiracy, fraud and involvement in serious organised crime relating to the alleged fraudulent acquisition of Rangers. Green and Ahmad also face a charge under the Companies Act. The hearing got underway with legal discussions which the press and public were not permitted to attend. It is the first time the case has been called publicly in court since the men were indicted last month. The preliminary hearing does not involve hearing from witnesses, nor is it held in front of a jury. The case of the seven had been due before the High Court in Glasgow. I t was moved to the High Court in Edinburgh on the same date for “better management of proceedings”. The indictment is understood to run to 75 pages of charges, with one charge alone taking up 12 pages. The men are all facing charges connected to the sale of club assets in 2012. http://m.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/13874667.Former_Rangers_chief_Charles_Green_and_oldco_owner_Craig_Whyte_appear_in_court/
  3. RANGERS are delighted to announce Craig Flannigan as the new Head of Performance and Preparation. Preparation is vital to top class performance and that is where he will be invaluable to the club. Rangers have to become one of the most modern and progressive clubs in the entire game and Craig’s arrival is another step towards positioning the club in becoming the best again. He is renowned in his field and formerly worked as Hibernian’s Head of Sports Science and Fitness. http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gers-appoint-craig-flannigan/'>http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gers-appoint-craig-flannigan/ The 42-year-old started his career at Rangers and played for Scotland at all levels from under-16 to under-21 – including an under-16 World Youth Cup Final in 1989. After Rangers he went on to play for Clydebank, Queen of the South and Partick Thistle. In 2001 Craig retired from playing and went to study Sports Science, after which he worked for a number of Scottish Premiership clubs and as an education coordinator with PFA Scotland. Football requires a huge team effort and that in turn calls for the highest calibre of individuals. Players always want to improve but they need people around them with the skill set to help them become even better and that is where Craig’s appointment will be vital for the club. http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gers-appoint-craig-flannigan/
  4. More appointments on the way. “It’s a big appointment for us. We have got another two appointments coming shortly. We are making progress in key areas.” http://t.co/gp57C68TDk
  5. @Cammy26_2: @Kenny_Millar do you expect the McParland to Rangers deal to happen or is it just an approach at this stage? @Kenny_Millar: @Cammy26_2 I expect it to happen. @Kenny_Millar: @Cammy26_2 Burnley could make him work a notice period, which could be as long as three months. I've no doubts in the story. @Kenny_Millar: @gersmandan He's tight with Warburton/Weir and he'll have a lot of responsibility because there's so little in place at Rangers. @Kenny_Millar: @gersmandan I trust where the tip-off came from and know how it was double-checked. We'll see.
  6. With Warburton at Brentford, will know the type of players the Manager wants. Another piece of the recovery.
  7. No Rangers players involved
  8. Scotland U19s drew 2-2 with Germany U19s yesterday. Ross McCrorie, Robbie McCrorie, Ryan Hardie all started with young Liam Burt on the bench.
  9. Will the 1% ask for a re-run ?
  10. A poster with decent credentials on FF, is saying there might be an appointment this week.
  11. @ScottishFA: FT | A goal from Oliver Burke and a Ryan Hardie double secured a 3-1 victory for Scotland U19 vs Mexico in Germany! http://t.co/7yAJaIj6oD
  12. Look after yourself BH.
  13. Can someone put the photo up please.
  14. He said: “We have a vision going forward where I would like to see us taking Oldco out of liquidation and putting assets back into Oldco - putting Rangers back into the old company. We can’t do it while all this stuff is being sorted out. “It would be a good thing to do. It would be back to the traditional Rangers. I think the supporters would like it. It is not economically important but it is something I would like to do. It would provide a sense of closure. http://dlyr.ec/jR6eTn
  15. Daily Record saying King has hopes of taking OldCo out of liquidation.
  16. He will be on your screens next week, Champions League BT Sports.
  17. Have a look at pics in the Willie Vass thread above. The players look knackered, probably more than they have in the matches.
  18. No doubt forlan will reply, but I read that one of the reasons they have been conceding goals this season, is trying to play the ball out from the goalkeeper. Something that worries me about the first team when meeting better opposition.
  19. Hope you enjoyed it.

  22. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/item/10066-u20-dundee-united-3-3-rangers RANGERS’ youngsters battled back from adversity to draw 3-3 with Dundee United, after ending the match with 10 men due to injury, to remain unbeaten in the Development League. Ian Durrant’s side were 3-2 down with eight minutes left to play when Ross Lyon struck an equaliser but it came after the 20s had been shaken by serious injury to three of their teammates. Lewis White and Jordan Thompson left the ground in an ambulance after dislocating a shoulder and most likely breaking a wrist and Scott Roberts was on crutches after tearing his ankle ligaments. Dundee United fielded a team featuring six players with first team experience, meanwhile Durrant named his youngster side ever, with an average age of 18.8. The Light Blues actually got their noses in front first when Jamie Brandon struck inside 12 minutes. Rangers had switched the play well and reacted quickly when the ball was cleared out of play. He latched onto a speedy throw in from Josh Jeffries to skip into the box from the right flank and unleash an impressive effort, on the angle, that sent the net fluttering. But nine minutes later United had pegged one back through Jordan Moore after a mistake from Robby McCrorie. The Scotland under-19 keeper left the striker with an empty goal to finish into and he easily tapped home. Just minutes later though, the stopper made up for his error when he denied Justin Johnson at full stretch, with his effort fizzing in from the left. Scott Roberts was up next in an end to end opening period, he did well to get to the by-line on 26 minutes but could only find the side netting with his shot. Trailist Rory Currie took his turn too when he made a clever turn after teeing himself up and taking the ball off Callum Morris but the keeper held it well. Just before the break the home side could have gone ahead when Harry Souttar rose highest to get his head to a corner from the right and he headed inches wide of the post. But the half was to end on a sour note when White went down screaming in agony after slipping his shoulder out of place after going up for a header. With his treatment clearly set to take a while the referee called for half-time and the defender was stretched from the pitch with both club’s medics by his side. Rangers were clearly shaken after seeing their teammate in such peril and they lost a goal after five minutes of the second-half starting. It was Moore’s second of the evening as he rose to glance a header past McCrorie after a corner from Ali Coote. It took a while for Durrant’s side to get a foothold on the game again. Johnson went close for United and was only denied by an excellent double save from McCrorie and then Coote blazed an effort over. And on 63 minutes Moore had his hat-trick for the evening and it came straight from a goalkick. That caught the Gers defence off guard and he took advantage as he lashed a volley past the keeper. The Dundee United forward has battled back from more than most to fine form, having suffered twice from skin cancer at just 21-years-old. The youngsters could have packed up but they showed tremendous spirit and hauled the game back to 3-2 through a spot kick for handball. Dylan Dykes stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to give them belief once again. Two minutes later though Thompson was forced off with his wrist injury and with all substitutes used Gers were going to have to play the final 12 minutes with a man down. It didn’t seem to matter to the young Bears though as sub Lyon popped up after Reeghan Tumility’s header fell short. The forward held off two defenders to side foot home and draw his team level at the death. RANGERS: McCrorie, Brandon, White (Mills 45’), Dykes, Brownlie, Lang, Jeffries, Ashmore (Hardy 62’), Currie, Thompson, Roberts (Lyon 58’) Subs not used: Wright, Bradley Goals: Brandon 12’, Dykes 76’, Lyon 82’ Yellows: Mills 87’, Lyon 87’
  23. All from me lads, sorry.
  24. @RFC_Youth: 21' GOAL! 1-1 Moore equalises after a mistake from Robby McCrorie leaves him with just an empty goal to finish into.
