  1. Sorry it should have been said, the post was copied from FF, and he is a Scout.
  2. the Rangers AGM. Today in the Court of Session in Edinburgh two of his arguments were thrown out and the third, and least important, was continued to a later date. Essentially resolutions 9, 10 and 11 set out to give the Rangers Board power to issue new shares, to convert loans from wealthy fans into shares and to remove Ashley’s voting rights as he already has a considerable interest in another European club, namely Newcastle United. As this issue also involved the SFA is it likely to run and run. By leaving the legal challenge so late, Ashley’s representatives have continued in a long campaign that suspiciously looks like an attempt to wear down the club and directors by issuing legal complaint after legal complaint - costing the club hundreds of thousands of pounds and having the threat of personal liability hanging over the directors. This latest humiliation for Ashley is unlikely to be the last attempt to browbeat Rangers but must surely make his advisors and shareholders in Sports Direct question the sanity of allowing such an embarrassing farce to continue as it increasingly looks like ego rather than business sense is the motivating factor. http://www.followfollow.com/news/tmnw/michael_ashley_fails_in_legal_bid_to_interfere_with_rangers_agm_874969/index.shtml
  3. Surprised this has flown under the radar, taken from FF. http://www.followfollow.com/news/tmnw/michael_ashley_fails_in_legal_bid_to_interfere_with_rangers_agm_874969/index.shtml
  4. Just to add to the story. Billy is a died in the wool bluenose, His family is very much steeped in part of our history due to his father being our groundsman in the 70s. His fall out with Sinclair was such that he was awarded compensation via an Industrial tribunal but declined the cash due to our financial plight at that time. As Elfideldo says above, Billy has been in the position for a couple of weeks and is as enthusiastic as ever. Welcome back Billy.
  5. This from FF 'Billy Marshall from Everton is apparently set to join us' Left after a fallout with Sinclair and has returned.
  6. If anyone outside Scotland took any notice of Scottish Football we would be a laughing stock. From the Administrators to Managers to Players to the Journalists, we are f----d (please excuse the language).
  7. I am enjoying the attacking football, but still have my doubts about our defence without a proven defensive midfielder. This may be rectified in January, but we play Hibs in December so we will go with what we have, injuries and suspensions included. I agree about the postponing of games, there was really no need for this, although it could be justified that it gives the thin squad a break. I love to read and hear our Manager in the various articles and interviews, and have respect for his abilities and ambitions. To me he still has to prove he can change and adapt to various pressures as a football manager, his plan A and plan B soundbite IMO, will not work. I hope he succeeds, and it is with Rangers.
  8. I can't remember, fell asleep during most of them.
  9. The football under McCoist was some of the worst I've seen from a Rangers team, and to make things worse, it was in the lowest Leagues in which we have played.
  10. @nathanc71013: Report: Rangers targeting Tom Bradshaw for Ibrox move, Sheffield Wednesday interested https://t.co/UNZ9qNLGyg Would be a good signing!
  11. Taken from FF. . . Rangers Supporters ‏@RangersFCTrust 41m41 minutes ago The RST has submitted a complaint to the Independent Press Standards Organisation following a clear breach of Editors Code by Jim Spence. Rangers Supporters ‏@RangersFCTrust 42m42 minutes ago We look forward to IPSO dealing with the matter and hope they will be able to encourage Mr Spence to stop his dishonest commentary on RFC. https://twitter.com/RangersFCTrust/with_replies
  12. This has nothing to do with football, never has been.
  13. And @VidmarFF: Kingy just walloped Scottish football over the head with a steel chair. Bah Gawd! Oh, and he seems to let slip BDO will be appealing.
  14. Wonder what the documentation says? Nice one DK.
  15. It is disappointing that a debate has re-emerged around the subject of Rangers’ history in Scottish football. It must be especially frustrating for the Club’s supporters who again find individuals within the structures of Scottish football unfairly targeting the Club. As the one individual who was a major shareholder and director throughout the period that gave rise to the HMRC dispute, and again find myself in a similar capacity, I believe that I am uniquely positioned to make three important observations. First, irrespective of the final outcome of the tax appeal (which might take several more years) the football team had no advantage from any tax savings from the scheme put in place by the Murray Group. Throughout the period in question the shareholders were committed to providing funding to the Club. The tax scheme may have reduced the need for shareholders to provide higher levels of funding so, as I have tried to make clear in the past, any advantage gained would have been to the company and its shareholders, not the team. Certain players may not have signed for the Club without the perceived benefit of personal tax savings but there was no general advantage for the player squad, or the performance on the pitch. We would still have signed players of equal abilities if one or two had decided they didn’t want to sign under different financial circumstances. Secondly, Lord Nimmo Smith has fully and finally dealt with the legitimacy of the continuity of the Club’s history. There is no more to be debated on that issue. Finally, it is extraordinary that representatives of other Scottish clubs – who admit the damage done to Scottish football by Rangers’ removal from the Premier League – should even wish to re-engage with this issue. It is time those individuals, who represent other clubs, recognise their legal and fiduciary responsibilities to their own clubs and shareholders rather than submit to the uninformed ramblings of a few outspoken fans to whom attacking Rangers is more important than the wellbeing of their own clubs. This is a misguided attempt (that will ultimately fail) to rewrite history and defeat Rangers off the park when their teams could not do so on the park at the time. The history of many other clubs would have to be rewritten if this illogical argument was to be consistently applied. Having reviewed documentation that has become available to me I believe that Rangers was harshly and, in some instances, unfairly treated in the period leading up to demotion from the Premier League. However, that is now history and I have publicly stated, with the full support of the recently installed board, that we wish to put the past behind us and move on in partnership with all clubs throughout Scotland to improve and restore the image and quality of Scottish football as a whole. This will be to the benefit of all clubs. For the avoidance of doubt, however, I wish to make one point clear. If the history of our Club comes under attack we will deal with it in the strongest manner possible and will hold to account those persons who have acted against their fiduciary responsibilities to their own clubs and to Scottish football. http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/dave-king-statement-5/
  16. MARK Warburton hopes to welcome up to five new signings by the start of next season after declaring his Rangers’ squad not in need of “major surgery”. Including loans,11 players arrived at Ibrox this summer but now the manager has the nucleus of his squad he insists it will only need tweaking from now on. Head of Recruitment Frank McParland will search high and low, across Scotland, England and overseas to find the next batch of Gers stars. Warburton said: “Right now we don’t need major surgery, we have lost one game of football, are five points clear at the top of the league and the squad is sound and in good shape. “We need one or two in January, maximum, to do that and in June we’ll see how we finish the season but maybe four or five in total, including January. “Part of your job is to know the market, part of my strength is that I know the academy market down south because of my background and Davie at Everton knew the market very well. “Frank’s background is extensive, he knows the first team market and has extensive European contacts as well so it is about bouncing ideas, looking at players and judging them. “You have to look in every pond you can possibly fish in, that’s important and it’s not always about how much you spend, it’s not about having the biggest budget, it’s how you utilise it. “We are working closely with the board and with the owner and I talk daily with Stewart and Andrew and the communication is first class. “We keep them updated and our last meeting was on Monday morning with Frank and David too. That was going through our targets and what we think the costs will be.” It’s not just first-team recruitment that McParland will be charged with, it will also be his job to strengthen the youth department with quality signings. Both Warburton and the former Liverpool Chief Scout insist that Rangers has a unique selling point of offering a clear path into the elite squad from academy level. Warburton explained: “We have to raise our quality and if you look at the bench and squad at the weekend it featured the likes of Liam Burt and Ross Lyon. “They are young players playing in the under 17s and 20s and they’re in the Rangers first-team squad. “If you do well and work hard then you will be in our squad and given the chance. “Frank’s job will be to constantly add quality to the squads, the younger squads too, not just the first-team.” http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/major-squad-surgery-not-required/
  17. This guy on twitter seems to know what's what!! @PhantomL5: @Dwc7377 All he's doing just now is trying to drown our legal team in paperwork(and the SFA's). He doesn't care about money he wants 1/2 @PhantomL5: @Dwc7377 Assurances we won't go after him if Green is convicted and he isn't getting them. 2/2
  18. Thanks Frankie beat me to it. This should be informative.
  19. Taken from FF, re programme on Radio Scotland this morning. 'Missed his name but clearly very surprised at the decision and highlighted the fact that two rounds of tax judges had been overruled by the non-tax judges. Finished by calling it unsound.' 'The guy was a Solicitor Advocate from Pinsent Masons. Made some excellent points. Surely an appeal to the Supreme Court.' Then a post from Vidmar. 'I'm glad this is being highlighted. Reading the decision, it's painfully obvious the Judges had made up their minds before any submissions. They reference Dr Poon - the FTT dissenter, and non-legally qualified - multiple times but don't mention the other two QCs whatsoever. The submissions by Roddy Dunlop on behalf of RFC are given about a paragraph! They go on to accept the payments were loans and discretionary but take the view they should still have been taxed. I hope BDO appeal. There seems to be a lot of confusion in tax circles over this decision which has come completely from left field.'
  20. WE WOULD like to correct some misleading information that has been circulating on what is described as the “Big Tax Case”. For the avoidance of doubt, Rangers have not lost the case. There is no question of any liability impacting on our Club, its history or any member of the Rangers International Football Club plc Group. The Rangers Football Club and the entities which currently own and manage it are not party to these proceedings nor do we have any say in what happens. The proceedings are a matter for those affected by them. We note that the assessments for tax which were the subject for appeal and which are referred to as the Big Tax Case relate to Murray Group Holdings Limited, Murray Group Management Limited, The Premier Group Property Limited, GM Mining Limited and RFC 2012 PLC (in liquidation). http://rangers.co.uk/news/club/club-statement-55/
  21. They have won the right to appeal, nothing more. Can Murray appeal against this judgement ?
  22. I read this... Majority of 'Easdale bloc' already barred from voting per previous RIFC announcement
