  1. Rams eye up Hemdani By PETER JARDINE Premiership new boys Derby County are lining up a £1million bid for Rangers midfielder Brahim Hemdani. Manager Billy Davies and his Pride Park staff are believed to have monitored the player in the recent Ibrox friendly win over Chelsea. And now they could invite Walter Smith to decide if he wants to part with Hemdani, who has two years left on his contract in Glasgow. The Frenchman could be tempted by the lure of Premiership wages, while Rangers may feel they could redirect the funds elsewhere during the remainder of the transfer window. With Kevin Thomson, Barry Ferguson, Lee McCulloch, Steven Whittaker and Charlie Adam all chasing places, Smith already has a series of Scottish options as cover for the midfield. Former Marseille captain Hemdani was signed on a Bosman by Alex McLeish before his final season in charge, but injury troubled the 29-year-old initially at Ibrox. He won a regular place last year under Paul le Guen and Smith and scored spectacular goals against Celtic and Osasuna. He was then later named as the club's in-house Player of the Year. Sources close to Hemdani suggest he may be content to remain at Rangers but a Derby bid could change that situation and there may be other interest if it becomes clear that he might be allowed to leave.
  2. http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=465&Itemid=1 Kevin Thomson for me...
  3. McGregor, Broadfoot, Weir, Cuellar and Papac; Hemdani, Thomson, Ferguson, McCulloch, Beasley and Darcheville.
  4. On Setanta's highlights programme yesterday the panel of "experts" reckoned Whittaker was almost certain to start at RB as we had spent £2million on him. A lot by our current standards. If you look at the Thomson transfer most fans said the same about him due to a similar fee. He must start as the manager needs to justify his fee. I don't know if they were just stirring it up due to Hutton's great form (Zeta aside). But is general consensus not that Whittaker was bought to be used as a RM and back up RB? Has Walter not near enough said he will be tried at RM and if it's common knowledge to the fans how do the guys, whose job it is to know and talk about football not have a clue?
  5. Stumbled across an old thread bumped on FF detailing the Rangers and Celtic squads of as of 1/9/06 (Age in brackets): It makes grim reading now although there was a lot of confidence in the squads being evenly matched at the time, at least accodring to FF. Considering first the goalkeepers. With it taking a while for AM to cement his place as our number one and with erratic early season form, Celtic were stronger in terms of their no. 1. We had the better backup but due to Boruc staying relatively injury and suspension free squad strength never told in this position. Onto the defence. Bardsley was no better than Hutton early season and Hutton only took the jersey due to discipline problems from Bardsley. Hutton became the best right back in the country, but by this point the Tims had the league wrapped up. At the start of last season Celtic probably had the edge at RB, with us becoming strongest here at the season's end. Neither had a decent replacement. At LB we have the better player on his day. Smith is superior to a fairly decent Naylor. However Smith has injury troubles and I would give Celtic the nod for the LB position on last season's squads. Again a lack of a decent replacement is noted. With PLG's squad Celtic easily had a stronger pairing at CB with capable cover. Walter has taken the initiative here. We are now far stronger here but more of that later. Looking at the midfielders listed in that squad we looked to have by far the better first picks in Hemdani, Fergie and Clement versus the likes of Lennon, Jarosik and Gravesen. However our lack of strength in depth is obvious looking at the squad list. Having said that, for reasons still noted in the current set up it did not pan out with us being stronger in this position. Then, as now, we lacked pace, a bit of steel and are devoid of creativity. despite stronger individuals they seemed to have a better midfield unit. Looking at the "attacking midfielders" or wide players. They were stronger again. I don't see much between Adam and "poty" Nakamura but they were stronger on the other flank with better replacements. Ignoring Sebo (sorry) our forwards looked stronger. JvoH and Zurawski were perma-injured (new word?) and Miller and Beattie are mince. Again not sure our individual quality shone through. Boyd won top scorer but we missed out on the big prizes. So this time last year, squad analysis was done on the above squads. General consensus was we matched up well but PLG's superior management would shine through . I beleive I was of similar opinion. In summary, on paper they looked stronger in goals, that pretty much held true. Their stronger looking defence held up to that supposition too. Our stronger looking midfielders did not perform better as a unit. Neither set of strikers covered themselves in glory although Celtic's forward line can bathe in the glory of winning trophies and progressing in Europe. The fact that so many bears ended up with egg on their faces for the bold predictions made this time last year should serve as warning. However I am going to fly in the face of my own comments and predict that (on paper at least) we appear a far stronger squad than this time last year: Goalkeepers Mcgregor is established as number one with experience of playing for the Gers and European exprience. His ability to come for cross balls has improved, although many still worry about him in that respect. We have got rid of Letitzi (a wasteful purchase in the first place) and got rid of the dead weight Klos became on the wage bill. Owing to AM's improved confidence at being No1 and improved play and with Carroll and Smith in for Letitzi and apast it Klos I would argue our first pick and back up options have improved. Left back Papac was signed as a CB and that may well prove to be his best position. However playing LB he has improved over the season from a PLG reject to a player many are happy to deputise for Smith. If Smith regains fitness and with Murray as further back up I would say we are better covered here than this time last year. Right back With Hutton's vast improvement here instead of Bardsley we are definitely stronger. No room for anymore red mist momments though Alan. Whittaker should prove a better back up than Bardsley. Centre Backs What needs to be said here? What an improvement. Weir and Cuellar (a potential POTY and signing of the season) start with capable back up from Webster, Broadfoot and Ehiogu. The major difference from the PLG era. Left Midfield McCulloch if he ends up on the left he will strengthen the team. Adam did well at LM for my money last year, contributing goals and a dead ball threat. He needs to kick on from there with a vast improvement on recent performances necessary. With Beasley in too, the options are there for LM. An improvement on last year for this bear. Right midfield An undoubted weakness for us. Will Whittaker prove to be the man to fill that hole. McCulloch has filled in here although has been bought for LM or up front. Novo and Burke have filled in, sometimes well, sometimes not. Neither are the long term answer. An opportunity for Whittaker to make the position his own. Time will tell if it's an improvement on last year. Centre Midfield The only major change occured in January with Thomson replacing Clement. Clement may go on to be a stronger performer, but for Rangers KT is the better choice, he wants to play for us not just for one man. McCulloch can fill in here if needed increasing cover. As touched on earlier, in this case the stronger individuals (compared to Celtic) does not equate to a stronger whole in terms of the midfield unit. As stated we lack pace, dig and creativity. Debbte rages as to how to include the quality individuals of BF, BH and KT into an effective Rangers midfield. One of Walters big problems at the momment. Forwards Boyd needs to rediscover the goalscoring touch. When he's scoring he's our main and only real (CA aside) goal threat. A wee rest may do him good, however Sebo-esque backing might do wonders for the player too. Many want to give Sebo a chance, others want him sold. Walter says we wont pay anyone off and noone would pay a fee for him, so we continue to hope he comes good, but I have my doubts. Darcheville is not as good as Prso at his peak, but that is not the Dado we saw last year. Novo is a useful replacement who still lacks composure and a decent touch but is held in high regard for his work rate. If Boyd is off form we are very weak upfront, not much has changed from last year then. As I say it is clear there has been a vast improvement in squad depth across all playing positions. Some major improvements have occured since PLG's era in quality as well, notably in defence. However the improvement in quality has not been enough for some fans, with no "star" names brought in this summer. According to SDM we will have one or two more to come to complete this squad. It looks a lot stronger on paper, but on the field two main issues seem to arise. The lack of pace, creativity and obvious first picks in central midfield. Secondly, where the goal threat comes from one Boyd is not banging them in. The next step is to compare this year XI to that from the other side of the city. (Sorry for a long and possibly boring post, but seeing the aforementioned thread on FF tonight sparked a lot of thinking for me).
  6. Meanwhile, Rangers are set to snap up Scotland and Hearts keeper/coach Jim Stewart after Billy Thomson was surprisingly sacked yesterday. Never heard anything about this
  7. I hope he at least has a good idea, or is prepared to change things and is not afraid of dropping the "certs" Ferguson and Boyd.
  8. Team from official site: McGregor, Hutton, Webster, Weir, Papac, Burke, Hemdani, Thomson, Beasley, Boyd, Gow Is it on tv then?
  9. Taken from The Evening Times website..... I'd take him in a second. Great player.
  10. So we finally get cover for the left midfield after years of having nobody in this position. We now have Beasley, Adam, Gow and even Thomson who can play there and Lee McCulloch will be another if he ever completes his move. But all of a sudden our right side is vacant. Sionko wants out as he and Smith dont talk and Burke is not up to the job over a season as he is weak and injury prone. 1 or 2 fans have said Sionko should be gievn another chance and im all for given players a 2nd chance so this one is all about opinion. However, Faubert would have been the answer and in typical Rangers fashion we lost out on him due to Murray and Bain. The player was begging to join us and even went on strike to try and get his deal. But Faubert must be forgotten now although we wont forget the reasons why he never signed. And if we see him flying in the EPL next season it will be a sickener. So who do we turn our attentions to?? Is there anyone realistically out there who we can go for. I seriously am racking my brains thinking if there is anyone affordable because IMO he needs to be a first teamer. I know I might get pelters for this but Ray Parlour is a free agent. Ok, he is 33/34 and would be another stop gap signing but his experience wouldnt do us any harm and I still think he could do a job in the SPL for a season until we identify someone. He cant be any worse than Burke anyway!! Suggestions?
  11. So following our 3 early signings (Darcheville, Broadfoot, Gow) we had a long spell of silence and silly rumours. Now in the space of a day or 2 we have 2 left (YES THATS LEFT) sided players arriving at Ibrox in Beasley and McCulloch - 2 good additions IMO. Beasley has pace and McCulloch is a solid midfielder who can score goals. Not only that Alan Gow can play left and of course Charlie Adam got double figures from that position last season. Behind them we have Steven Smith, Sasa Papac and Ian Murray for LB - so finally at last our left side, but more importantly our left midfield is sorted. - Now for the right hand side. Svensson has moved on which paves way for the possible signing of Cuellar and of course Andy Webster will be staying on either on. But after a lot of patience things are finally happening behind the scenes. What is notible is the amount of Scottish lads we can field: ______________McGregor_______________ Hutton_____Weir______Webster_____Smith Burke____Ferguson___Thomson____McCulloch ______________Gow____________________ __________________Boyd_______________ G Smith Murray Lowing Broadfoot Adam Lennon

    Squad Cover

Just running through each position for the team and IF (big if) the Beasley and Faubert transfers went through we would only be maybe a right back and keeper away from having good all round numbers. GK - McGregor / Robinson and possibly Graeme Smith to come in as back up? The fans are split on whether this is good enough or not, but whatever happens we have the numbers there again. Its just my opinion but id prefer a keeper with higher quality to come in. RB - Hutton is a hands down starter but Lowing hasnt nearly had enough games. He may make the step up next season but someone with a bit more experience may be the better option and allow Lowing out on loan for a season. This the the one position we need another body. LB - Smith / Papac / Murray - plenty cover, we could even release Murray. CH - Weir / Ehiogu / Broadfoot / Svensson - Plus Papac and Hemdani can fit in and Webster may sign on along with either Cuellar or Todd - enough cover there but a long term partnership needs to be resolved. Centre midfield - Ferguson / Hemdani / Thomson / Buffel? - 1 or 2 injuries would see us in a bit of bother here and Buffel is still not confirmed to be staying nor is a centre midfielder unless he is infront of diamond which is unlikely to be played. Would Quashie be a good signing here? Wingers - Burke / Sionko / Adam / Gow - They are the 4 currently on the books but Beasley and Faubert would be great additions and allow Sionko to leave making Burke and Adam good back ups. Novo can also play there. Strikers - Darcheville / Boyd / Sebo / Novo / Lennon - Every team needs 4 and we have that at the moment although Sebo and Novos futures still not confirmed. It may be we add here but time will tell. Young Lennon could make the step up this season. Gow can also play there Conclusion - So I would like a keeper as a priority. Weare linked with Danny Mills at RB, this could be a good loan signing if it could work that way to allow the development of Lowing. We are ok for numbers at centre half but age is against a few of them and there isnt a long term partnership, although I dont think its a top priority this season as Weir easy has this season in him.
  13. We are still in there with a really decent chance of making it through this group. So far we have won 5 and lost 2. The 2 defeats were in Ukraine and Italy so they werent places where we expected wins. A point in Ukraine would have made a lot of difference but we were poor on the night. So we have to look forward to our remaining 5 games and take them all like cup finals. 3 of them are at Hampden so we must get the ground rocking like previous matches against Germany, Holland, Italy and France in recent times. Id love to get a place in the top 2 at the expence of the arrogant French but we may need them to do us a favour and go on and run away with the group and take points off Italy and Ukraine. They have a slight lead so that could be the best way. We should have everyone fit for the double header in September. IMO Big Eck must bring Hutton into the team ahead of the poor Alexandra and he has to change Weir's partner at the back. Id personally put Pressley in if he is fully fit against Lithuania but play 3 at the back in Paris to frustrate them and get a point. Barry Ferguson will miss the Lithuania game due to a booking against the Faroes but one wonders if that was meant so he is free to play in Paris. But our midfield options will be good for the rest of the campaign. We have Ferguson, Quashie, Fletcher, Hartley, MuCulloch, Brown, Thomson, Maloney, McFadden all going for 4 or 5 places. Our remaining fixtures are: 8th Sept: Lithuania (H) 12th Sept: France (A) 13th Oct: Ukraine (H) 17th Oct: Georgia (A) 17th Nov: Italy (H) It looks tricky on paper but if we take 1 game at a time its a bit easier. We should beat Lithuania at home if we play good enough. France away is the sort of game we would have written off but they have only beaten Georgia 1-0 last night at home and we should go there and frustrate the hell out of them. They were disrepectful after we beat them 1-0 by saying "we'll who qualifys at the end and where Scotland will be". 0-0 would be great. Ukraine at home is the key fixture should we beat Lithuania. A fired up team and stadium should be enough for another 3 points. Georgia away is a potential banana skin but if we are going there win a chance of qualifying we can get something. Then we will become the unofficial world champs on Nov 17 I believe we can finish in the top 2 but its going to take one mamoth effort from Mcleish and our lads. CMON SCOTLAND
  14. Its says a lot that we can field a all Scottish XI again and not only that, its not a bad XI: _____________McGregor_____________ Hutton_____Weir___Webster____Smith Burke____Ferguson__Thomson___Adam ___________Boyd___Lennon________
  15. Strong Side For Galaxy From Lindsay Herron in Los Angeles KARL SVENSSON makes a rare starting appearnace for Rangers in the glamour clash with LA Galaxy parnering Davie Weir at the back. The young Swedish defender has not played since the 2-1 win over Falkirk back in February and has only started two matches since Walter Smith returned as boss. However, with Ugo Ehiogu and Sasa Papac not here with the squad due to injuries Svensson has been drafted into what is a strong Rangers side. It is likely that he will make way for Andy Webster at some stage of the game giving the Scotland man his Rangers debut. Smith is going with a 4-4-2 formation with Kris Boyd and Nacho Novo playing as a striking partnership. The team is: McGregor; Hutton, Weir, Svensson, Murray; Burke, Ferguson, Thomson, Adam; Novo, Boyd. wonder what the subs will be
  16. The last two dismal performances have highlighted the character in our current squad - or complete lack of it. People have complained that Walter Smith's return has not exactly resulted in total football, but it has to be said that it would have taken a magician to turn the sow's ear into a silk purse. What Walter has done is turn the offending ear into a reasonably servicable, if scappy looking, leather wallet. There is definitely some skill in the squad and the odd bit of fight, which has been brought out in them by a man who has instilled a great purpose about "achieving" second place. It seems the players will play for Walter given enough of a goal, but not when that goal is gone, and they won't play for another man whose goals they don't share. This to me suggests a lack of intrisic character in these players, and that their motivation does not come from wanting to excel themselves but has too many other complexities. The trounble is that, we don't have the finances, or even the attraction to bring in another whole new squad but have to make do with these spinless players, and instead augment the team on a limited budget. So it seems to me that Walter, not only has to look for fit, skillful players, who can fit in the team and adapt to the SPL, he also has to find players who are driven by an inate desire to win. Who also find losing, totally unacceptable and who are willing to expend every last calorie of energy on the pitch to avoid defeat. With a few changes to the team with these kind of players, this character may rub off on some of the others. On the positive side, I think Walter recognises this and you can't get more character and professionalism than a player like Weir. What we need are more players with that attitude. I think players who are not too bad are: MacGregor Hutton Weir Hemdani Novo while the worst are: Svensson Ehiogu Burke Sionko Adam Buffel Boyd Although some of them might just be lacking in ability. The jury is out on Papac and Thomson but I would find it hard to defend them on their depth of character shown so far. Ferguson has been an enigma and at various times been committed or AWOL. I think he'd pull up his socks a bit if he had a few more highly talented and experienced players around him, whom he can't bully and who show him up when he's poor. I think it's fair to say, he's been a failure of a captain in the last two years and I would really like to see a new captain brought in, but can't see it happening. I can't see how Brown would have helped with this aspect so it might be best if his 4.4M fee was spent elsewhere. Here's hoping that Smith brings in some character and the new goal of winning the league inspires our present insipid lot.
  17. Gribz

    3-5-2??

I know ive always harped on about this being my preferred formation but i really think we should give this a bash especially with the personnel we have at the moment. It gives us extra bite in midfield with the physical side of the SPL plus it allows a creative man in a natural position. Id have Alan Hutton as a wing back as he has been very good in getting forward of late and i feel he could be up and down that right side all day. The only problem is whether to have Adam or Thomson on the left but Id pip Thomson in there. Personally id like to see this tried (obviously when everyones fit) ______________McGregor______________ _______Weir____Ehiogu____Webster______ Hutton____Hemdani___Ferguson__Thomson_ _______________Buffel_________________ ____________Boyd___Prso_____________
  18. So Broadfoot and Gow will arrive and Celtic done us another favour by taking McDonald away from us. They did the same with Hartley. I was one who kinda wanted Hartley but he has been poor since going there and its dawned on me he cant cut playing for a bigger team. Anyway, Kevin Thomson hasnt had a great start, Andy Webster hasnt kicked a ball, Davie Weir has been a good signing as has Ehiogu IMO, despite a bad game. But id like to see Webster sign up permanently, with Weir and Ehiogu being there for all of next season. With Papac being impressive of late, Broadfoots arrival and IF Webster signs then we can afford to let Svensson go but im equally happy if he sticks around. So all that our defence is pretty much ready next season bar cover for Alan Hutton. Gary Naysmith could also be a potential target and then we could let Ian Murray go. In between the sticks, we need a big signing or a back up keeper for McGregor - something Walter will need to think about over the near future. In midfield Sionko, Rae and Buffel will all probably depart but id rather see Buffel stay. Buffel and Sionko have talent which they dont use. An interesting debate on here the other day saw a few posters thinking it wouldnt be a bad thing if Ferguson moved on. Im one who wouldnt be upset if we cashed in on him. There is a chance he is at the route of some of the problems at the club as he feels immune to critisism or being dropped. We need a left sided midfielder to replace the inconsistant Charlie Adam with Lee McCulloch or James McFadden being my choices. Scott Brown will probably join and thats a boost for the right side of midfield. Upfront we are being linked with Healy, Koevermans and Balaban amoungst a few others. It will all depend if Sebo and Novo join Prso on the way out. Gow can also play upfront.
  19. Fat Jim seems a bit puzzled as to what he means... Funnily enough I noted his silence last week after the Celtic fans sung their IRA hymns of hate.
  20. We have to more positive and I think Walter will do that. I'd only make two changes from Osasuna. I'd drop Rae (obviously) and Thomson, who hasn't really lived up to expectations. I'd bring in Ferguson and Boyd and get back to 442 ---------------McGregor------------ Hutton----Weir---Ugo----Muarry Novo---Hemdani---Ferguson---Adam -------Boyd------Sebo If Walter doesn't go more positive only change would be Ferguson in for Rae
  21. I hope Walter sits down with his staff, including Murray and sets out a direction for the club. WS is Rangers through and through but why is he so negative with selections? Does he not have confidence in the pack of cards he has been dealt with? I could understand his point if this was true but he plays the dumplings that ive no confidence in. Next season we have to get closer to Celtic and i think we will slightly but not over a season. He has got to get back to putting 2 strikers on the field. If he wants to keep 5 in the midfield then fine, play a 3-5-2. Ok, he doesnt have an open cheque book to sign 6 million pound players again but FFS lets set out ambitions higher than Scott McDonald. Id rather Scott MacLean back than him as the latter is playing at a higher level than Motherwell IMO. The dead wood needs booted out along with those who just dont have it in there locker. IMO Ian Murray, Charlie Adam, Gavin Rae and Kris Boyd are squad players at best and others arent far off them like Sebo, Novo, Thomson, but these guys have to be playing right now as we dont have anyone else. Kevin Thomson hasnt impressed me one bit and I wasnt impressed when we signed him. He has to prove this bear wrong. We are crying out for some experienced midfielders and strikers. Its worked good at the back bring in 2 older players and we still have a few young centre halfs in Svensson, Papac and Webster to come in. A quality forward needs to come in. Ive mentioned Robbie Fowler before as the answer. People say he is finished but he is 30 or 31 and still has a magical touch compared to Boyd. I honestly think he would sign for us if we went for him.
  22. Scotland squad: Goalkeepers: C Gordon (Hearts), A McGregor (Rangers), N Alexander (Cardiff), I Turner (Everton) Defenders: G Alexander (Preston), R Anderson (Aberdeen), G Caldwell (Celtic), C Dailly (West Ham), S McManus (Celtic), J McNamara (Wolves), G Murty (Reading), G Naysmith (Everton), S Pressley (Celtic), D Weir (Rangers) Midfielders: S Brown (Hibernian), C Burke (Rangers), B Ferguson (Rangers), P Hartley (Celtic), L McCulloch (Wigan), N Quashie (West Ham), S Severin (Aberdeen), G Teale (Derby) Forwards: C Beattie (Celtic), K Boyd (Rangers), S Maloney (Aston Villa), K Miller (Celtic). No Kevin Thomson, Mark Wilson or Steven Whittaker and a callup for the third choice Everton goalkeeper:confused:
  23. Of the guys who are guaranteed to be here and with those currently leaving (Novo, Prso, Klos etc) is this the best line-up we can start next year? McGregor Hutton Weir Webster Smith Burke Fergie Thomson Adam Boyd Gow With subs from: Gk - Robinson RB - Lowing CB - Ehiogu Svensson Broadfoot Papac (?) LB - Murray (Also a CB) Midfield - Hemdani Buffel Sionko(maybes) Forwards - Sebo (Have I forgotten any first team squad players?) Anyway, looking at that line-up, i'm happy with AM in goal and AH at RB. I know many fans aren't, but I think they do their job and we have more pressing concerns. If we get a "war chest" from somewhere and sort out all other positions, then look at buying players better than these two. Right now I don't beleive it is a viable option in terms of how we use any transfer budget. However we do need to look at bringing in competition for both positions within our budget. I actually think the CB position is looking very strong. A quick turnaround there from WS afterwhat PLG left him. Experienced heads of Weir, Webster and Ehiogu who can hopefully bring on the youngsters of Svensson and Broadfoot. Papac may very well be let go. LB also looks fine to me. Smith is a cracking wee player who can and will improve, and although Murray is not the same attacking threat he is an able deputy who can also fill in in most other positions. With Rae and Clement off, the midfield begins to look very light. I don't think we have the players to suit a formation incorporating Hemdani, Thomson and Fergie. Fergie has to start whenever fit. Our best and only top class player. You have to ask how likely is it that Thomson will not start most games. WS is not likely to be able to afford many £2million players, so you would expect Thomson to play. This begs the question, would Hemdani be happy as back up at CM and CB? Or will WS look to buy the players to fit this 4-4-1-1 type formation? With NN not being offered a new contract as of yet, who covers CA and CB on the wings? Does WS have Sionko in his plans? I'm not so sure. Cover on both wings is a neccessity, although maybe Gow has been bought with LM in mind. The centre forward position is also a worry. Looking at the available players, Boyd and Gow would be likely first choices. Boyd is guaranteed goals, but you need other goal threats for when Boyd has an off day as is stated when he's not scoring he's not often effective. Sebo and perhaps Buffel (although WS already tried to sell him) look like the only back up. God help us. Does NN deserve a new contract. Can Prso show he is fit enough for another year? Looking at that potential first XI it would be solid, but short on quality in midfield and more importantly upfront. The squad would also be severely lacking in depth. If Prso can prove his fitness he has to be kept on. Depending on other options, it may also be worthwhile keeping Nacho on for another couple of years although I am undecided on this one. The potential signings of Brown, McCulloch and McDonald are essential imo. They would add some fight to the team and depth and quality to the squad. However it would not fill the other mhob with dread. A potential starting line up may then look as follows: McGregor Hutton Weir Webster Smith Brown Fergie Thomson McCulloch Boyd McDonald With the following pushing for a start: Robinson Ehiogu (Svensson) Adam Burke Prso (For key games and impact substitutions. He couldn't last a full season.) Novo I would sell Sebo and Buffel and look at the "problem" positions of RB and GK. An improving squad but still severely lacking in depth and that extra bit of quality. Certainly, the recent signings by WS and the potential (expected) signings of Brown, McCulloch and McDonald are taking steps in the right direction, but typing this has just made me realsie what more is needed.
  24. Does Prso start? For me yes, lets get right at them from the start and get an early goal and hopefully put this tie out of sight after the first leg. ------------Klos------------- Hutton----Weir---Ugo----Muarry ----Hemdani-----Thomson------ Burke-----Ferguson-----Prso ------------Boyd--------- Hard on Adam after his goals on sunday, but sometimes he doesn't do enough over the full game
