The squad is seemingly just for a preperations session for Euro 2008 qualifiers, but still i expected to see Steve Smith in there, considering who's made it into the squad ahead of him!

Smith is in the U-21 Euro qualifier squad - every chance Walter Smith felt it better he actually was playing as opposed to meeting the squad for a 2 day get-together..... however, flip-side to that theory is that I think the above squad will be what Walter Smith selects for the upcoming qualifiers - and in defence there are definitely poorer players than Stevie Smith in there.

Read it today too Gribz. Very suprised about McNamara :S

I think he must be getting on anyway, isnt he about 33? Its a pity coz he has been a good pick for RB over the last few years.

If someone is good enough for the full squad but qualifies for u21 team, then I'd rather they played in the u21 qualifier than go to some get together. Gives the u21's more chance of qualifying.

There's plenty of time for Smith to get into the full team when he's over 21 and picked up some more experience in the SPL, Europe and u21 internationals.

He's only really had half a season for Rangers, and look at the way Hutton's development has stalled.

I think Naismith can do a job for us in the meantime, after all he does play in the EPL.
