Rangers FC no longer for sale

Recommended Posts

An interesting point was just raised on FF regarding the potential stake retained by Murray. Bluedell will be able to expand, but with King holding a respectable portion of the shares in Murray's sports division, could he be the reason for only the MIH shares changing hands initially? King invested heavily and with the drop in price he would stand to see a good whack of that lost should all the shares be sold. Can he block the sale of the portion he is linked with?

May also explain King's apparent retreat in recent weeks if they have found some common ground.

There was an economist, from memory, with that name. Cant remember his angle though.

He is the case officer for the Rangers FC offer situation at the Takeover Panel, my grandson told me, it is his remit to know these things.

Well the Takeover Panel will have to become involved if the Mail scoop is true...

I have heard Frankie, that a decision is to be allegedly taken this Friday, which being a Friday is a curious time to say the least. SDM, will allegedly yay or nay, which leads to if a nay not a lot else required, if yay, Rangers scrutiny panel then either yay or nay, the worst scenario is SDM yay and scrutiny panel nay, big big decision for anyone , being as the scrutiny panel are actually representing the interests of Rangers FC, Minty's interests are his own as a non board member or chairman now.

Ithe scrutiny panel are actually representing the interests of Rangers FC,

The jobs of some of the scrutiny panel could be at risk so there could be other interests being taken into account.

Any cash raised by MSL for the sale of the shares would end up going to MIH to pay off the loans, so it is extremely unlikely King will ever see a penny of his investment again whether MSL sell the shares now or in the future.

It could be however that King is blocking the shares for other reasons (if he has that power which is unclear as we do not know what side agreements are in place), or perhaps Murray doesn't want to sell them at this point hoping to get a better return in future. Perhaps Ellis doesn't have the cash for them but given the reported price per share that is being realised, this is unlikely.
