Apparently it's James Beattie at this early hour who is here for talks and signing.

 

He is a finisher, but he is getting on, and has added a few pounds to his frame.

He isnt a bad striker but a bit slow. Im more concerned about midfield especially wide areas. It does look like Naismith could be first pick there and Lafferty, Fleck and Davis will be played there also.

Don't believe it for a second. He was on �£40,000 a week at Sheffield United so must be on at least the same at Stoke. Is he going to take a 50% paycut to play in the SPL? Nonsense i reckon.

When he was at Sheffield United he was on �£20,000 a week more than their second highest earner. That's so insane even we wouldn't do it.
