The 32-year-old is expected to hold talks with Walter Smith on Thursday ahead of agreeing the proposed move.

Beattie has been keen to kickstart his career at Stoke after a bust-up with manager Tony Pulis but the arrival of Kenwyne Jones will push him down the pecking order.

Noooooo! Never been a success wherever he played.

Source?

I'd be reasonably pleased with that. A big old fashioned target man for Miller to play off

He was a revelation at Southampton and Sheffield United, though granted he failed everywhere else

Daily Mail online are carrying the story.

1.5 mill for a 32 yr old ? ZERO sell-on value.... whilst it isnt all about sell-on value will he really give us a level of ability to offset the loss of any subsequent transfer fee ? Does this mean, if true, the Jelavic deal is dead ?

We could be linked with Lionel Messi and you'd still moan about how Struth wouldnae sign a foreigner with shoulder length hair. Considering we have a squad of about 14 players, signing one veteran is fine by me
