But to suggest punting decent players when there is currently no chance of replacing them is just daft. What good does it do? Losing him for the rest of the season clearly isn't good news at all, in fact it's bloody awful news in our situation. Having said that, there are times when I'd gladly punt Whittaker tomorrow without any fear diminishing our chances. He must now be challenging Olivier Bernard as our worst post-war fullback. Of course then there's Davis, who clearly abandoned all interest last September. Or Edu, who ... well I really don't know what his role in the team is because I've never actually seen him do it. I'm not sure what to make of Totti. I don't get the name, for a start. And sometimes he can be reasonably fair and accurate. Rangers said today that Lee doesn't see a specialist until tomorrow, so Sky Sports understand nothing until after he's seen the specialist and the club announce the specialist's prognosis. Even if surgery is required it still doesn't mean he'll be out for the rest of the season. He could be, but it's not definite. Especially given he 'sat in judgement', as you put it, at me: Danny sometimes you're right other times you're a total tim sympathiser.
