Bears 0 Posted January 31, 2012 Share Posted January 31, 2012 From a personal point of view i still trust him, but it is harder and harder to keep doing so. I do think it's apparent he bit off more than he could chew, but he's here and will have to learn quickly. As he says we have not stopped trying to get players in, we just don't have the cash to throw money at players like we did in the past. I think we have to wait till the tax thing is over, then we can properly judge him, i'll give him a year to show his cards, i know that will be afr too long for a lot of Bears though. The one thing is cling to when doubts come into my mind is the fact he's still a young businessman, he has made mega bucks so there is a brain and business acumen there. He will not want to have a massive cloud hanging over his head for the rest of his career/life that he was a guy that ruined Rangers Football Club. He'll want to be known as the guy that came in at possibly the most difficult period of our clubs history, weathered a huge storm and came out the other side with a finically stable club that is wining trophies and has a name in the game that holds pedigree again. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Most supporters appreciate the fiscal reality of the situation & don't want to see crazy boom&bust strategies. Putting our club back on an even keel is a difficult job and squaring that with the often unrealistic (and fickle) demands of our fans makes it even harder. But it can be done and the right investment and tactics could make us successful for another 140 years. Show us how Craig. Bluedell 5,329 Posted January 31, 2012 Share Posted January 31, 2012 What is true is that Rangers, like many other clubs, has a financing arrangement in place with a company called Ticketus which enables the Club to receive revenue from a portion of season ticket sales in advance. There is nothing unusual or untoward in this arrangement which was put in place at the Club long before my takeover last year and was used by the previous management. He could technically argue that it's not the supporters money since the money came from Ticketus, the fact that it's supporters money finding it's way to Ticketus is a redundant point to him. As for the VAT he could technically argue if there has been no actual demand specifically for £5m then he hasn't avoided a £5m VAT payment. fair enough....I was thinking along the lines that the whole thing wasn't true!!!
