There was a case like this here recently and the guy got off with it. It is roughly the same as the AZ keepers case, once you are sucked in then you are then no longer accountable for your actions as rage takes over thought. A bit like a crime of passion I suppose.

Why did Friel not just disappear ? I find it strange he would hang around having just KO'd Swanson.

 

I guess the best synopsis of this is that two wrongs dont make a right. But it is very hard to watch someone being blind-sided and not have a "the antagonist got what he deserved when he got the shit kicked out of him". In the eyes of the law BOTH Friel & Goodwillie were due punshment and that is the way it should be I guess - but without Friel's cowardice actions there is every chance that NOBODY gets hurt.

 

And for that reason, IMHO, Goodwillie's sentence should be no worse than Friel's.

I know revenge is never good but for the cowardly attack Friel put in on Swanson(?) I would hope that he gets his comeuppance and for the rest of his life people keep hooking him from behind.

Looks to me like almost everyone in the video were smashed on drink and drugs. A couple of guys got decked because of the arguments/chaos, but there was nothing too serious going on. This type of thing happens all over the country every single night.

 

TBH, I'd say Goodwillie's only real fault in the whole thing is that he was there, smashed out of his face in the first place, but then again, something happened in that shop for them all to spill out so quickly and Goodwillie was the first to bounce out.
