Document sent to SFL clubs to put Rangers into the First Division

Recommended Posts

The 30 clubs in the Scottish Football League received a proposal on Thursday outlining proposals for league reconstruction.

The plans include allowing Rangers to play in the First Division. The SPL has warned that if these are not voted through by the SFL clubs in the coming weeks, they will create a breakaway SPL2.

The document has been seen by STV and has been reproduced in full below.

The proposal to SFL clubs, titled "Your Game, Your Club, Your Future

WHY DOES RESISTANCE TO CHANGE IN FOOTBALL EXIST?

â?¢Fear of the unknown

â?¢Lack of involvement

â?¢Lack of information

â?¢Threat to power, or status

â?¢No perceived benefits

â?¢Fear of failure

â?¢Unless behaviour changes, nothing changes

UNDERSTANDING RESISTANCE TO CHANGE

â?¢Perceptions of being â??worse offâ?

â?¢If the reasons for change are not clear

â?¢If implementation plans are not clear

â?¢If there is no clear â??linkâ? with your own objectives

â?¢If a change is seen as a threat to your long term security or well being

WE THEREFORE NEED SOME CLEAR COMMUNICATION PRIORITIES FOR THE SFL

â?¢Logical and positive communication to eliminate doubt, threat and insecurity

â?¢Fully explained in terms of short and long term benefits to you and the organisation

â?¢Not left to the last minute

â?¢Involving you at an early stage

â?¢And seen in the context of a wider strategic plan

CURRENT REALITY

â?¢Rangers have no where to go

â?¢SPL Clubs have indicated their voting intentions

â?¢SFA wish to see a solution in the interests of the game

â?¢Moral/sporting question vs financial collapse

â?¢Are The SFL are in a position to accommodate a solution?

WE HAVE CONSIDERED FIVE SCENARIOS

1.Rangers stay in SPL

2.Rangers to Third Division

3.Rangers to First Division

4.Rangers to SPL2

5.Rangers terminated or suspended

1. RANGERS STAY IN SPL

â?¢Not an option

â?¢SPL clubs have indicated no

2. RANGERS TO THIRD DIVISION

Takes approximately £16 million out of the game

â?¢Commercial partners walk away and seek compensation

â?¢The settlement agreement becomes a major risk

â?¢The sporting opportunity is quashed for other clubs

3. RANGERS TO FIRST DIVISION

â?¢Reduces SPL income by approximately 30%

â?¢Balances short term need for redemption with a least worst case financial scenario

â?¢It is financially possible to recover from this scenario

4. RANGERS TO SPL2

â?¢Currently not supported by the SFA

â?¢Creates a bigger divide

â?¢Leads to some short term commercial losses

â?¢A legal challenge could paralyse the game

â?¢The overall pot would be much less than anticipated

5. RANGERS TERMINATED OR SUSPENDED

â?¢Complete financial meltdown

â?¢Settlement agreement is obliterated

â?¢Fans are lost to the game forever

â?¢The game survives but where?

WE HAVE CONSIDERED THE FIVE SCENARIOS 1 Rangers stay in SPL 2 Rangers to Third Division 3 Rangers to First Division 4 Rangers to SPL2 5 Rangers terminated or suspended

**SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE BEING ASKED TO CONSIDER? **

â?¢Rangers in the IRN-BRU First Division this coming season

A one off fee to buy out the Rangers media value. (£1million) thus protecting the current contracts in place.

IF WE AGREE THEN WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING

â?¢Play-Offs immediately, based on our format

â?¢A new distribution model with the settlement agreement value protected and future proofed

â?¢An amalgamation of the SPL & SFL

â?¢A more balanced governance model (as circulated)

WHICH WILL DELIVER BENEFITS TO THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

â?¢Immediate cash benefit for all 30 clubs!

â?¢Gate receipt uplift in Division 1

â?¢Potential hospitality & advertising values increase

â?¢Sponsors receive added value through additional exposure

â?¢Scottish Government remain committed to our community strategy

â?¢SFL has more influence at the top table

â?¢Play-Offs restore the sporting meritocracy and deliver additional value

AND BENEFITS TO SCOTTISH FOOTBALL

â?¢A unified plan presented to the Scottish footballing public which offers real possibilities for the game

â?¢Keeps all 42 clubs together avoiding a divisive SPL2 split

â?¢Deals with the need for sporting integrity with regard to Newco

â?¢Delivers innovation in the form of a single league, Play-Offs and a pyramid plan

â?¢Delivers new value for the game

â?¢Potentially narrows the financial gap between Scottish Premier League & Scottish League

â?¢Shows leadership for the game in Scotland

â?¢Allows fans to engage in the bigger picture

â?¢A positive media outcome

Gate receipt uplift in Division 1

Don't be so fucking sure...no club outside Rangers is getting a penny of my money from here on in. I'm just as happy to see SFL teams suffer as I am SPL teams.

If the SFL think we're going to resusitate their moribund and long-overdue-for-extinction members they've another thought coming.

Quite a document. I think the only thing they've forgotten about is supporters. From my reading of the game currently this pretty much pisses off the majority of clubs fans. They might want to think about that. They can keep sponsors and keep money but without supporters what have they actually got?

The thing I don't get is if the SPL are adamant at least 5 clubs will go into administration next season without us, then why would these chairmen put the future of their clubs at risk?

They clearly won't, so given that's the case we'd have 6 votes. I assume the 5 clubs doesn't include Celtic who stand to lose the most, so I reckon that'd be 7 votes, and we'd only need one more and I reckon we could get that in Ross County who clearly shouldn't be one of the five.

What will the say when we will be declared victims of a massive fraud? Something outwith the hands of the club and its supporters? Will they show some sympathy and take their insidious claims back? I woudn't want to wager on that.

I completely agree, we should, from this point henceforth, provide our hard-earned only at Ibrox, to Rangers.

They decided to fuck us, we have the power to absolutely shaft every other team in the country outwith Celtic. And much as though it seems like sour grapes, these fuckers have TRIED TO KILL US.

We should be spiteful and vengeful, because nobody has showed an element of compassion for Rangers or its supporters, so why should we compensate those who wanted us dead ?

They made their bed, they can lie in it. And when we come back stronger, but dont give them OUR cash, lets see how long it is before they are passing round the begging bowl to the Bears.

I think Kilmarnock said they would be voting us in so I would give them a bit of slack.
