For me, my Dad was an Ayr fan but with a soft spot for Rangers but my 2 uncles on my Mum's side were ardent Bears and I was always pretty close to the younger uncle as he was a good sportsmen and I liked my sports too. On top of that, the first game I attended live which involved a Scottish team was Rangers game at Ibrox when we played Bordeaux pre-season. Started with my great grandfather and has passed right through the years. I,m happy that my 3 kids have followed in the same tradition.
