I'm curious about the bit with the mail. If these threats were 'credible' why on earth would ANTI TERROR POLICE allow someone to open mail that could kill him? I don't understand. I thought the process was to divert mail and it be opened by specialists.

Is he also going to talk to Beasley, Edu, Novo etc? Novo received death threats and his house was vandalised.

This is SO frustrating. By pointing those out we look like we are point scoring but this is just a complete assassination of rangers as a club and it's fans.

All we need now for Timmy Thomson is to throw in the SAS, snipers and some IED's and we have the next series of Strikeback.

He's a frustrated fiction writer is our Thommo.

But it's worse than that. It's going on the MAIN C4 news. We are being destroyed here. The obligatory 'most fans are decent' is known to be insincere now. Rangers are going to HAVE to react.

Surely we are not in a coincidence that we are launching the SHARE issue and suddenly we are big news in bad ways again? I'd like to know who set his agenda for him. We know people don't want us big and strong again, but this has the potential to run and run in a big way. It's not a one off interview, he's going to keep on at us.

What we need is the club/PR people to address this situation, the more it is left unchallenged the more those who hear of it will accept it as fact, why do our extremely poor PR people always have to be forced into action by fans.

I really despair with this guy.

He seems to think because he adds a sentence in about this being only a minority that he can continually refer to all this underclass stuff.

There's no balance in his reporting and he makes no attempt to explore the other side of the story.

I wonder if Mad Phil has another blog about the Klan in the offing... *whistles*

Thomson mocks the Ibrox Disaster by posting his 'Walking Away' video. Channel 4's Regional Commissioning Editor, Stuart Cosgrove provides mitigation for his colleague on BBC Radio Scotland's 'Off the Ball'. Thomson apologises for said video if people are offended by it. It's an exercise in sniggering faux sincerity.

A couple of days later, Thomson is Tweeting and referring to Rangers supporters as, "Daleks". It's another in-joke utilised by Rangers haters, Daleks don't do stairs. I think it's time the club contacted the survivors and families of those that perished on the 2nd January'71 and ask the collective take on Thomson's continuing insensitivity.
