Scottish FA considering investigation into Rangers links with Whyte

Recommended Posts

I don't believe their is a conspiracy no. Whyte is banned and some decent evidence suggests he is sevco 5088. Given sevco 5088 had a contract to buy us and seems to still be part of rangers its no surprise they are looking at this.

How many more times? Sevco5088 doesn't & never did own Rangers. Sevco Scotland bought Rangers & its assets. Whyte had nothing to do with either company unless you want to believe in forged documents. Do you seriously believe D&P would have allowed Rangers to be bought by a company which involved Whyte after the SFA gave him a life ban?

Sevco 5088 was set up by Charles Green, the company was to be used as a vehicle for Rangers coming out of administration. Whyte tried to add himself and another as Directors a couple of months ago, Charles Green dumped both of them and applied to have Sevco 5088 dissolved. Once the CVA was discounted Charles Green applied for and paid to receive exclusive bidder status, whyte was never involved in Sevco Scotland, it was this vehicle that all Rangers assets were transferred into.

does SEVCO 5088 have a license to play football? is it a member of the SFA? is it an associate member of the SFL? The answer to all of these questions is no, and that answer being no, the SFA have no locus to investigate SEVCO 5088. It is no accident that this is being raised when the SFA leadership has been given a bloody nose over its latest anti sectarian proposals.

You sound as if you would love it to be true. Desperate for a case of "i told you so?"

Once again, this will no doubt be driven by concerned citizens (perhaps not British) bombarding the press and the SFA until they get their way.

Let's face it. This crap will never cease. There's too many Mhanks for whom this is now a lifestyle. The football comes way down the list. Sad indictment of the times but welcome to our Brave New World.

The Scottish Football Association will decide by the end of the month whether it will investigate links between Rangers and former owner Craig Whyte.

The governing body's chief executive Stewart Regan said yesterday that the SFA board would examine a report requested by the current Ibrox directors regarding allegations Whyte was involved in Charles Green's bid to buy the club's business and assets.

The independent investigation, which was carried out by law firm Pinsent Masons and overseen by Roy Martin QC, was commissioned by the Rangers board but found no evidence that Whyte invested in the current Ibrox set-up.

The allegations were denied by Green, who subsequently resigned from his role as chief executive of the club.

However, the SFA could now carry out an investigation of their own after Regan commented: "We said at the outset that there were a number of questions that the club has to answer. That remains the case.

"We also said we needed to see the report that had been carried out by Pinsent Mason. I can confirm we have now seen that report.

"A formal brief will go to the Scottish FA board on that subject towards the end of this month and will then decide what steps we will take, if any.

"It's hugely important for Scottish football that we don't have yet another summer of acrimony, bitterness, falling-out and unhappiness amongst supporters and club staff.

"We have to move forward and must do everything we can collectively to get the game right in Scotland."

Whyte was declared not "fit and proper" to take part in Scottish football and banned by the governing body following his time at Rangers - who were liquidated after Whyte put the club into administration in February last year - and is now being pursued by the SFA for a fine levied as part of a disciplinary charge.

The Motherwell-born businessman continues to claim that he was a director of Sevco 5088, the company formed during the initial stages of Green's buyout of Rangers' assets.

The SFA requested information from Rangers about any connection with Whyte but said it would wait for the club's own investigation to conclude before taking action of their own.

Regan was speaking following the SFA's Annual General Meeting at Hampden.

Ifs and buts and coulds and there might be the possibility thats ... and for the good of the game and sporting integrity we - as a precaution - assume that there might be a link between the charlatan and the former CEO that might lead to consequences of dire proportions for Rangers FC.

Can we just not sue the SFA and SPL for what they blindly did in 2012?

What is it really that they are investigating? What exactly is the problem? It seems incredibly arbitrary to me and at worst we could be found guilty of "having directors of Rangers who had previous (and seemingly essential) dealings with the previous owner of the club with the actual crime being that he is a guy the SFA don't like."
