Our player wage bill is not the issue but that fact does not suit some journalists agendas.

McCoists wage bill is a real issue. Throwing big bucks at seasoned pros season after season has cost us a fortune. The clean slate he had will need to be wiped clean again if and when we get back up to the top flight. He was supposed to be building a squad for the future, instead we have a team of hasbeens who are simply not good enough for where we want to be.

as for his youth policy, Im pretty sure that the the likes of McKay Gallacher and Crawford could have done every bit as well as their overpayed counterparts. If these kids have any ambition to be a footballer they should ask the manager to rip up their contracts, theyre not going to get the chance under his governance.

It may not be the issue, but it is 100% undeniably, an issue. A huge one too. We have lived outwith our means again, with no lessons learned, in order to win a couple of leagues we had won before a ball was kicked. We have lived outwith our means yet again, not learning our lesson, in order to struggle with the likes of Peterhead, Stirling Albion and Queen's Park. We are an absolute disgrace of a football club.

Let's me be straight - our wage bill is ridiculous for where we are and there is no doubt the money could have been better spent.

But what cannot be ignored is that our turnover to wage ratio is probably one of the best in football.

As for agendas - you would be naive to say that Scottish journalists do not love to stick the boot in at any opportunity.

At over 50%, is it? Is it really? Have a look at our accounts, our 120 day review. Turnover averages at £19m and football costs well over £10m. It is disgustingly high.

Daily Record 10/4/2014

In accounts now filed with Companies House, TRFCL has reported operating costs of £35.3 million for the 13 months to June 30, 2013 on turnover of £17.6 million, with the first team wage bill for the year having come in at £7.8 million.

That £7.8m is only the first team squad. Our football set up(football costs from my post) is way bigger than that sadly. It will be well over £10m p.a. Turnover hasn't topped £20m yet i don't believe and won't this year either i don't suspect.

There is absolutely no justification for paying anyone upwards of £7k a week to participate at the level we have found ourselves in the last few years. The fact even that isn't enough to bring success should set alarm bells ringing in every Rangers fans heads. Speaks volumes for the management team.

All this wage ratio talk is completely skewed. We have a "huge club" operating cost base, inc murray park, 50,000 stadium and all the cost associated. Lowered income because of level we are at not including no shows, reduced ticket prices, lower tv income, sponsorship, europe... At the level we are playing the playing wage bill should be appropriate for div 2,1, championship not based on a percieved acceptable percentage. Player wage budget should be whats available not a wishlist....

Maybe not that low mate but it could be low enough to make sure we don't run at a loss.

Yeah, nice. Dunno how many Conor McGrandles Falkirk had these past few decades, we had one Danny Wilson and a chap called Alan Hutton (+/- 9m). I reckon that we would have cashed in on Telfer had those with brains at the top dealt with his contract better. We might even sell Macleod (our brightest talent) for some serious money too. Not that this would go down well with the support - should it come to pass. I reckon that the Bairns were all very happy to let McGrandle go ... at least the board. ...

Just to add a bit of objectivity to that particluar remark.

Naming 2 players that left us many years ago doesn't do a lot for your argument.

Falkirk also sold Kingsley to Swansea this summer although I'm not sure how much for.

PS - Cashed in on Telfer? He would need to actually have been played before that could possibly happen.
