...with Ticketus looking to declare him bankrupt over unpaid £17million bill.

THE High Court in London heard how former Rangers owner, Craig Whyte had lied to Ticketus and failed to settle his debt.

CRAIG Whyte's personal fortune is at stake after a bid by finance firm Ticketus to declare him bankrupt over a £17million bill.

A court hearing was held in London yesterday after he failed to to settle the debt for his Rangers takeover.

Whyte sold Ticketus future sales on three years' season tickets for £25million in 2011 to find the cash for his Ibrox deal.

The High court in London heard the 44-year-old lied to the firm over the agreement.

A Ticketus spokesman said: "The bankrupt petition is a direct result of the judgement - Mr Whyte has failed to pay the money that is due."

Whyte was not in court yesterday.

A deadline of April was set for evidence to be lodged.

So howcome Ticketus had 2 means of apparently recovering their cash i.e. from Whyte personally & as oldco creditor ?

They had the transaction with oldco but Whyte had also given them a personal guarantee.

I would imagine if he has been found guilty of acquiring Rangers by illegal means any right he thinks he has to the assets will have gone. I would imagine it would be easy for RFC to defend the rights to the assets. Ashely is probably a bigger threat to our assets as Whyte will ever be.
