Rangers set to make their SEVENTH summer signing after agreeing fee with Hearts for midfielder Jason Holt

MARK WARBURTON continues his squad building as move for out-of-contract Tynecastle youngster looks near completion.

RANGERS have agreed a fee of around £65,000 with Hearts to sign out-of-contract star Jason Holt.

The 22-year-old has been training with Mark Warburton's side and will feature in tonight's friendly against Burnley at Ibrox.

Despite being a free agent, the Jambos were due a development fee for the midfielder.

Record Sport understands a deal has now been thrashed out between the clubs and Holt will become a Rangers player.

After coming through the ranks at Tynecastle, he spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield United.

He scored for Rangers as a trialist in their 2-0 closed-doors win over Ayr United last week – and Warburton has been impressed by Holt's attitude and ability.

He'll become the Englishman's seventh first-team signing since taking over at Ibrox, following Danny Wilson, Rob Kiernan, Wes Foderingham, Andy Halliday, James Tavernier and Martyn Waghorn.

No contact from Rangers over Hibs ace Scott Allan

DAVID HARDIE

07:30Wednesday 22 July 2015

Hibs have refused to become embroiled in speculation over the future of star player Scott Allan, insisting: “There’s nothing to talk about.”

Despite reports claiming Rangers were about to make a formal move for the much-admired midfielder, the Evening News understands there has been no contact whatsoever. While Easter Road boss Alan Stubbs was at Ibrox last night to cast an eye over new Ibrox manager Mark Warburton’s first match in charge of the Glasgow club ahead of Saturday’s Petrofac Training Cup clash between the clubs, Allan was at Somerset Park as Hibs completed their pre-season preparations against League One outfit Ayr United.

The 23-year-old wasn’t involved in the match, rested having picked up a couple of knocks in the previous games against Berwick Rangers and Dunfermline, the former Dundee United and West Brom man having scored in both.

Warburton was at East End Park to see his spectacular opener against the Pars and couldn’t help but be impressed by last season’s Championship player of the year.

Celtic and United have also been credited with an interest in the player – who has another year left on his Hibs contract – the Tannadice club having had a £250,000 bid to take Allan back to Tayside rejected out of hand by the Capital outfit during the January transfer window.

Hibs’ determination to keep Allan in a green-and-white shirt is as strong as ever. And, with the player, who became a father for the first time a couple of weeks ago, having himself stated he’s happy at Easter Road, the News understands chief executive Leeann Dempster and Stubbs are confident he’ll remain in Edinburgh after the current transfer window closes at the end of next month.

A Rangers signing target and Celtic are mentioned as potentially interested bidders.

What a surprise...

That Celtic interest is from January or the like, IIRC.

Former Rangers bad boy Bilel Mohsni offered three-year £1m deal by Tunisian side Club Africain

FORMER Rangers bad boy Bilel Mohsni has been offered a £1million jackpot to resume his career in Tunisia.

However Tunisian champions Club Africain want the centre-back and reports in the North African country claim the 27-year-old has been offered a three-year deal worth 400,000 euros a season.

...

However the four-cap Tunisia international is still highly regarded in his parents’ home country.

Club Africain, 13-times champions, are managed by Frenchman Daniel Sanchez and play at the 45,000-capacity El Menzah Stadium.
