RST/RF to merge into one body

Recommended Posts

I can only speak for the RST here but our understanding was that a simple question was going to be asked and the various groups would be putting it out at the same time. I was not in favour of the full document going out in full, especially the methodology as there has been actually no discussion about this. No discussion has even been had over whether a CIC model is even the most appropriate way to go, far less that we would use the RF one for shareholding and ours for other projects. The document should only have contained the general principles behind it and why it it is advantageous for all Rangers supporters. This goes way beyond shareholding.

As Bluedell suggests, there are many questions that would need to be answered with a unified voice.

Sounds a good idea and the general direction we want to be heading as a support but we need to know a lot more detail, see a reasonably settled politcal base and be happy with those who have pushed the idea and that their motives are simply the safeguarding and interests of the football club.

Proceed with caution.

This is a good point.I cant think of a case against, but id like to hear ones,if there are any.

Yeah, sometimes proposals can seem obviously a good thing, until someone with more experience points the flaws...

On a more general point.

At this moment these groups hold 5% approx.Fragmented.

If or indeed when they own say20%,fragmented,this will be a beytrayal of all the members who have faithfully contributed over several years.

To fragment a 20% ownership of the club would be madness, you would be gifting probably the major say in the running of the club to an individual(who we may no nothing about)

Its a problem that will need to be faced sooner or later, lets get it done now.

It's been obvious for ages now that the support would have to part finance the club going forward. But up to the regime takeover, who was going to give their hard earned to the ****s to pocket?

I remember a while back there was a short discussion on one of the forums about financial input from the support, under the banner of "no taxation without representation"

Buying shares is one avenue towards greater fan participation in the club, direct financial input should imo gain the support ownership of some of the clubs assets. That way never again can rich men play Russian Roulette with our club and it's history.
