We understand that Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Liverpool’s young winger Harry Wilson on loan in January.

 

Frank McParland, the once Chief Scout at Liverpool, now Head of Recruitment at the Scottish club, was in attendance at Liverpool Under-21s’ game with Celtic at Chester, where he was closely monitoring the 18-year-old.

 

Liverpool won the game 2-0, thanks to goals from debutant Brooks Lennon and midfielder Cameron Brannagan, but it was the young Welshman who McParland had come to watch.

 

Wilson, who is the youngest ever player to be capped at senior level for Wales, was recalled from his loan spell at League One side Crewe Alexandra earlier this month as Jurgen Klopp was keen to get a closer look at the club’s youngsters, and he could well go out for another temporary spell in the New Year.

 

Rangers are currently top of the Scottish Championship and are looking for promotion back into the top flight north of the border.

WIlson got a contract with Crewe till January, the length of his current one at Liverpool is not given.

I'd prefer we look at players that stay on, but there you go. In the end, we don't even know whether it was just a check-up by McParland on various players on his lists.

I think that is the market we will mostly be utilising. Bring in young talent/potential, develop then sell for profit.

IMHO, this is by no means a bad thing.....I would rather bring in a youngster on a low wage who flops, than someone "experienced" on a much higher wage who also flops. By focusing on the younger talents, they can be moulded into the type of player MW wants.

IMO, if the next two games dont go to plan,"experience"will be very much on the agenda.(loan wise)

He's older than Ball, if he had any sort of chance with us we'd a kept him and not signed Ball. Unless he has a massive surge of development out on loan I can't see him making the grade with us.
