Bolton launched a probe into the 44-year-old boss after the allegations NEIL LENNON is to remain in charge at English club Bolton Wanderers after a probe into claims he threatened a woman . The Record’s sister papers the Sunday Mail and Sunday Mirror revealed claims from the woman – known as Kim – that Lennon was allegedly having an affair with . She claimed the former Celtic boss told her that someone “could” hold a knife to her throat if she revealed their affair to his partner, Irene. Kim also claimed Lennon made a report to police in England claiming he was being blackmailed. In the wake of the allegations Bolton launched a probe into the 44-year-old. Tonight the club said: “Bolton Wanderers Football Club can announce that they have now concluded an internal investigation into an article published in The Sunday Mirror on Sunday, December 20. “The club has dealt with the matter internally and acted accordingly, details of which will remain private. “Neil Lennon will remain in charge of the first team squad. “The club will be making no further comment on the matter.” The Sunday Mirror article stated that Lennon tried to ban them from publishing the article. The report adds the ex-Northern Ireland player made a blackmail allegation to police but did not want to pursue it. As things stand, Lennon will be in charge of the club’s Boxing Day Championship fixture at Rotherham. Lennon has faced pressure already because the club sits bottom of the English Championship. Bolton are £172.9 millon in debt and received a winding-up petition for about £600,000 in unpaid taxes. Takeover talks have been held with four parties but unless a deal is done, they face administration and a 12-point deduction.
