Oduwa loan deal ends

Recommended Posts

It's all down to Scottish football Frankie up here it's 120 mile an hour and the tackling is of junior football standard. The last player from spurs who mastered our rough and tumble tactics was Graham roberts. Our style suited robbo to a tee...

Not convinced by that.

You'll find physical play anywhere and while he suffered from some appalling treatment up here, it's something he'll haver to cope with wherever he goes in the future.

Both MacKay and Oduwa have ability.

MacKay is also brave, determined, senses his time has come and wants to make sure he does everything to grab this opportunity.

Oduwa over the piece wasn't so committed and as players on loan sometimes do, seemed to lose interest and it's best for both him and us that he moves on.

Thankfully McKay has not had to suffer career threatening assaults this season in the same way as Oduwa had.

His opponents can't get near enough to him. He is normally about 3 yards away from them before they start to move.:D

McKay has put up with a helluva lot of bad tackles over the past few years.....

When a player is fast/tricky, the easiest thing is for the opposing player to go in hard. this will more often than not stop the players run & get him off the ball. It may also effect his confidence etc. Oduwa never looked like he could handle the more physical side of things, where as McKay looks like he can.

But if Oduwa plans on a career anywhere other than Scotland, handling the physical is a useless skill for him to learn. Any other league where players go in hard, they won't be on the pitch for more than an hour at most. All Oduwa would have learned from his time with us is how to deal with pressure - that would have been good for him, but I've no quarrel with him putting his legs and career first.

Also, if he was aware of Burchill's appalling response after the Livi cup game, it wouldn't exactly have encouraged him to hang about.

All in all a depressing episode in the history of Scottish football, regardless of his ability or the reasons for his leaving.

If it was the league I would have expected ball to go.

Reading between the limes from th tone of oduwa's goodbye I would guess we have terminated the deal.

With forrestor and most likely ohalleron in and Templeton coming back from injury he's probably surplus to requirements
