The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

Recommended Posts

Someone on FF suggested the same a wee while back. He wrote:

Lafferty on a free I'd take him.

My reply to him and this suggestion here is the same:

And you can keep him too!

BTW, cwood specifically said that the NI chap he was told about is not in their Euros squad. Lafferty is.

It is bad enough that these "HITC" virtually spam NewsNow with every single bit of info as well as crap that they can get their hands on. Now they also try to whip up smashing and loaded headines

Report: Rangers in limbo after Pochettino's decision on Dominic Ball, English clubs now keen

According to The Scottish Herald, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino wants Dominic Ball for pre-season training, meaning a return to Rangers is up in the air.

Ball, 20, joined Spurs from Watford back in 2011, and has been making his way up through the ranks at White Hart Lane, aided by loan moves.

Warburton gave Ball a key role; whether in defence or holding midfield, Ball was vital for Rangers, and his absence was notable when the Gers lost 3-2 to Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final last month.

Ball helped Rangers win both the Scottish Championship and the Petrofac Training Cup, and whilst he's heading back to Tottenham, Rangers boss Warburton no doubt love to take Ball back to Ibrox.

However, those hopes have dealt a huge blow today, as The Scottish Herald report that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has decided that he wants to take a look at Ball during pre-season training, and therefore won't sanction his departure.

Ball will have a chance to impress Pochettino, and with one year left on his contract at White Hart Lane, he may need to take this opportunity in order to secure a longer-term future in North London.

For Rangers, they're left in limbo as they wait to hear whether Ball will be allowed to return to Glasgow - and it turns out that English clubs may also be interested.

"Dom's going back to do pre-season with Spurs, if he comes back to Scotland on loan it will be with Rangers," a source is quoted as saying. "I'm sure Rangers would take him back but Pochettino is going to have a look at him during pre-season and then discuss his options from there."

Tin hat on... I think Lafferty would be a decent bit of business...

Why? He was a complete and utter waste of money and since leaving he's scored 20 goals in 4 years at club level. I think we should be setting our sights a little higher than that.
