With 4 games left it looks like a 2 possibly 3 horse race. For anyone else to win it would take full points and Buster and WTD not to score. Doesn't look likely.

I was trying to 'jazz' it up a little, as I felt it had grown a little stale.

 

The games will be even more difficult to predict (Germany - France, anyone?), so we could see more of a split in predictions; double points could've have made it interesting. Of course, if someone is predicting strategically, it'll not make any difference...

I like the idea of increasing the points as the competition grows towards a climax, but IMO these things have to be done at the outset.

 

You could have an increase all the way through the competition to keep it interesting, e.g. 1/3 points groups, 2/4 last 16, 3/5 qf, 4/6 sf and 5/7 final or something like that. Or we can add in first scorer from the knock out stages onwards.

 

Something to think about in advance of WC18?

Only change I would suggest is "a" bonus point for predicting a penalty-shoot-out winner after a draw at the end of 120 mins. But I wouldn't mind if it stays like it is.
