jhunter 0 Posted July 15, 2016 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Re Holt and Halliday ... we used Holt as an attacking right sided midfielder last season, whereas Halliday was our main holding/central/defensive midfielder. How Halliday would perform further up front with us (sic!) on a more regular basis is anyone's guess. Now that Barton and Rossiter are prime candidates for Halliday's position of last season, we may see more of him in an attacking sense, perhaps in left midfield. Pending on the opposition and venue, we may even decide to play two central midfielders and here I doubt that Rossiter will be an immediate starter. They were split into four North groups and four South groups. Each group contains one seeded club, one second seed and three unseeded clubs. Group matches Clubs are awarded the usual three points for a win but all drawn games in the group stage go straight to penalties - the shoot-out winners receive a bonus point. ie three points for a win, two points for a shoot-out win and one point for losing on penalties. Knock-out rounds The eight group winners and four best runners-up progress to the second round, where they are joined by the four clubs competing in Europe - Celtic, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian.
