Treatment of our player at away grounds

Recommended Posts

Saw this on a Motherwell forum.

There were two pies chucked at Wallace. The first one hit, the second one missed.

Then this.

As for Police Scotland, it basically sums up the way football fans are treated in this country. Absolutely disgusting scenes, and a problem that was CREATED by the Police. Had they not attempted to kettle fans in there would have be no issues. The fact this was going on whilst Rangers were singing sectarian songs makes it even more ridiculous.

This is driving people away from football and the club needs to make a statement expressing that the action of the police was inflammatory and could have caused a crush scenario. Media attention needs to be drawn to this incident as the decision made by Police Scotland here was totally moronic.

Now this isn't talking about how Rangers fans were being treated but apparently it's shocking how theirs were treated. No outrage about throwing objects at visiting players but outrage at songs. It's inflammatory but throwing things at visiting players clearly isn't?

THAT'S what the police are supposed to be doing? Dealing with singing while throwing objects at visiting players is nothing to get in a twist about? You ever wonder if these grunts grasp the irony? Or even have the capacity to grasp the irony. Two games in a row in Scotland our players have been assaulted by opposing fans.

That's the attitude and mindset of the moronic majority it would seem here mate. We are fair game, as you correctly point out, the irony is lost on them, it can also be argued that to appreciate irony you must first posses a level of reasonable intelligence. Maybe this is a sweeping statement but I'm gonna guess if your going to waste a couple of quid on a pie just to chuck it at someone while essentially at their work then they are lacking in that department.

What's that idiot on about, crush scenario? Where? The only crush scenario at fir park where they were situated would have been in and out the bog!

He says they were prevented from leaving at the end and that apparently adds up to a crush in the little crowd they had there.

As for the pie throwing one of them had this to say on it.

If the Rangers player getting hit with a pie is reported, where do the club stand with the suspended sentence?

Rangers players are in danger because of the unchecked hatred of our club allowed by the sfa and spfl.

Hibs fans have admitted in court assaulting rangers players and no punishment has been dished out by sfa.

Motherwell were not punished for assaults last year on our players.

We don't warrant protection it seems.

I genuinely wonder if it is going to take a fatality before the numbskulls who run Scottish football wake up to this problem.Let's hope not.

The SC final showed up how useless the SFA are & why Regan must be replaced. Why are we still waiting for this inquiry? What will it tell us we didn't already know ? We know hibz were the main culprits so get on with decisive action against that club.

And the abuse our players will get at the San GIro this season will no doubt be what's gone on before with Plod Scotland standing by doing hee haw.

We don't care what the animals say. We are massively under represented, only one MSP out of 129 supports Rangers. Players being attacked on the field and our representatives' total output is the Justice Minister, Michael Matheson's 3-4 minute statement on the Scottish Cup final. A statement that failed to mention Rangers.

I worry most about our trip to Pittodrie, supporters' buses snaking up and down, particularly around the Kingsway in Dundee. At the game itself, the atmosphere will be vile; remember, the Dandy Dons happily sing to the Yahoos, 'we hate Rangers more than you'.

Thumbing your nose amid a sniggerfest at Rangers and Rangers supporters' concerns is best illustrated by BBC Scotland's James Cook. He interviews McCoist, a series of questions over an hour. He edits the footage to show McCoist making a face and laughing at a question about sectarianism. McCoist complains, apologies are issued, a deliberate attempt to paint the Rangers manager as uncaring on a most serious issue is seen as fair game. The perpetrator, James Cook is the recipient of a massive promotion eighteen months later, the Forfar lad is now the BBC's correspondent in Los Angeles. Further, the three latest political debates have been hosted by Cook. It appears that aiming a kick at Rangers is a necessary tick in the required box.
