Celtic fans urged to launch Israel protest

Recommended Posts

A Facebook group has called on fans of Celtic football club to demonstrate at the Scottish side's Champions League qualifier with Israeli outfit Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

More than 500 people have joined the page - titled "Fly the flag for Palestine, for Celtic, for Justice" - which wants supporters to display Palestinian flags as part of an anti-Israel protest at next Wednesday's match.

The Facebook group claims European governing body Uefa should bar the Israeli champions from the competition because of allegations of apartheid in the country.

The group organisers called on Celtic fans to use their "democratic rights to display our opposition to Israeli apartheid, settler colonialism and countless massacres of the Palestinian people".

In a separate incident, police are investigating after Daniel Yahia, an Edinburgh University student, posted an antisemitic message on Facebook about Celtic's Israeli midfielder Nir Bitton.

In an expletive-laden rant, Mr Yahia wrote: "Zionists are subhuman and Nir Bitton is a filthy, Zionist rat.

"Get him as far to f--- from our club as possible.

"If you're gonna wave your Palestinian flag, don't be a hypocrite and demand this b****** takes his place on the team."

He added: "Only place he should be an ever-present is a jail cell for supporting the apartheid regime. C---."

According to The Tab student news site, Mr Yahia is a delegate to the National Union of Students, but has not taken up his post.

An NUS spokesperson said: "These are utterly contemptible comments, which have absolutely no place in either the student movement or wider society.

"We are not aware of this individual ever having held elected office within, or being a representative of, NUS."

Celtic did not respond to repeated requests for a comment on both the protest and Mr Yahia's remarks.

Scratch the surface of an "anti-Zionist", and more often than not, you will find a

slavering Jew-baiter.

These sellik people are merely useful idiots, at best, or screaming shills, at worst, for the Islamists of Hamas and Hezbollah.

This isn't anti Zionism it's Nazism endeavoring to conceal itself behind another label which is in itself questionable. I think we all know what the thought processes are behind mention of gassing.

POLICE are investigating a so-called Celtic fan who said gassing was “too good” for the club’s Israeli midfielder Nir Bitton.

Student Daniel Yahia also described Bitton as “a filthy Zionist rat” and claimed: “Zionists are subhuman.”

What would the response be if I said gassing was too good for Irish republicans and they they were all subhuman filthy republican rats? Would that simply be using my "democratic rights" to display my opposition to filthy subhuman republican rats who gassing is too good for?

Why would I even care so much about about the travails of a tiny group in the middle east who themselves freely elected a terrorist group who are defined as terrorists by both the entire EU and the United States?

Pretending it's humanitarianism? Well if that were the case I would have to be Calling Jordanians filthy subhuman rats who gassing was too good for because in less than two weeks during what came to be known as Black September in 1970 Jordan killed thousands of Palestinians and in fact in just 11 days they racked up a total body count it would take Israel DECADES to match.

Want a far more urgent cause than Palestinians being slaughtered by Jordanians? HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Africans have been and still are being slaughtered by ethnic Arabs in Sudan accompanied by mass rape.

Children as young as 2 years old were reported victims, while mothers were assaulted in front of their children. Non-Arab people were reportedly raped by Janjaweed militiamen as a result of the Sudanese government's goal of completely eliminating the presence of black Africans and non-Arabs from Darfur

And is this the next step in that clubs love of terrorists who gassing really is too good for? We going to be hearing chants praising the admirable qualities of middle eastern terror groups now too?
