Barton *thinks* he's still a Rangers player

Recommended Posts

I still have no idea what Barton did.

Record now claiming that Barton went "head to head" with the manager when he intervened "at the end of a blazing row between the notorious bad boy and a number of his team mates, following Saturday’s Old Firm thrashing at Celtic Park"

If he really did become aggressive/abusive with the manager that takes it to another level.

If that is the case he should not be back, but we have no confirmation yet. He's suspended and I have a feeling the midfield will be slick and oiled tomorrow. Halliday has no excuses now, he and Forrester I would like to see link well with windass. MOH, McKay and Garner up front. Now that's attacking lol!! If Rossiter fit then I would play him holding and put Forrester on bench.

I hate to speculate but you have to feel that this is what this all about. Player arguments happen all the time. (Especially after a sore defeat)

As you say we have no confirmation of nothing but if all of this were indeed true it's pretty damning and hard to see a way back for him given the abuse he is claimed to have thrown at the manager and players. It gives the impression that perhaps one of the players was so pissed off with him they leaked this stuff. It's too detailed to think otherwise.

JOEY BARTON’S Rangers career could be in doubt after the veteran was banished from Rangers training after going head-to-head in the changing rooms with manager Mark Warburton.

Record Sport understands Barton was ordered off the premises by Warburton after the two clashed at the end of a blazing row between the notorious bad boy and a number of his team mates, following Saturday’s Old Firm thrashing at Celtic Park.

Barton has not been back at the club’s training complex since Tuesday and is not expected to return until next week - after Warburton’s side have taken on Ross County without him at Ibrox on Saturday.

It’s understood Barton was at the centre of a furious argument with a number of his team-mates inside the first-team changing room on Tuesday morning.

And that, as tempers frayed, Warburton attempted to intervene - and ended up arguing furiously with the Scouser as stunned team-mates looked on.

One source told us last night: “Barton has never been the type of guy who holds back when he has something to say.

“He told some home truths inside that dressing room and not all of the boys reacted well to what was being said. One of them pointed out to Joey that they hardly lost a game last season and had been doing fine without him.

“Barton responded by saying they were playing against s*** teams in a s*** league. But he lost the plot when one of the boys said they managed to beat Celtic last season without him too - and that he hardly got a kick against them at the weekend.

“It was all getting very heated but when Warburton tried to calm it down Barton went head-to-head with him too. He left the manager with very little choice and it’s difficult to see how he can come back from this now.

“Barton has not been seen at the training ground since and has been told to stay well clear until Monday morning when he’ll discover his fate.”

Joey Barton responded to the claims in a late-night tweet.

The player wrote, "To respond to news reports circulating this evening ..." and published a lengthy post on twitter.

The 34-year-old arrived at Ibrox in the summer as something of a reformed character but carrying a long rap sheet of misdemeanours.

In May 2008 he was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for common assault and affray during an incident in Liverpool City Centre and spent a total of 77 days behind bars.

he didn't come over very well imo. Saying things should be kept in house while on the radio? I'm sure some will disagree however calling your gaffer "Warbs" whit??? Not sure why he wouldn't apologise either?? Maybe he is working his ticket because I don't see how the manager can back down now after coming out with all that live on the radio?
