Realistically where are we now

You must agree we were far better last season in pretty much every department? It's like watching two completely different teams.

You cannot compare the standard of teams from last season to this season , surely that isn't the basis for your point

We were head and shoulders above Celtic in our cup match and destroyed Dundee too. I don't think there's that huge a difference between the divisions. Certainly not between the lower teams in this league and the upper ones in the second anyway. Our style has just completely fallen apart this season: the pace is pedestrian, the flowing passing moves are largely gone, we're extremely predictable and just don't have the same cohesion on the park. We've made poor signings to the detriment of the side and we're just nothing like the exciting, vibrant, high tempo side of last season.

Put it this way, if the side we had a year ago was playing in this division right now, there is no way they'd be languishing in 5th place.

Different standard of opponent that's why

Though I would agree I don't think there is a great deal of difference between the top teams in the Championship and the bottom half of the SPL with hindsight I don't think our results against SPL opposition last season were so clear cut.

First SPL opponent was St Johnstone where we lost 3-1 then Kilmarnock over two matches which returned a draw and a win then a win over Dundee and if you look at the SC semi over just the 90 minutes that was a draw.

So from 5 matches you could say we had one defeat with two draws and two wins which isn't a great deal different from this seasons statistics if you double it to 10 matches with the same stats which would be two defeats 4 draws and 4 wins. That would return 16 points from 10 games which by coincidence is exactly what we have right now.

Anyone who wants to change out management team at this point in our rebuilding is absolutely bonkers , if it's only based on 10 league results , short sighted in the extreme .

Yet to hear from the boo brigade what or rather who they would turn to to rebuild our club , or are they just interested in winning a few games , serious question , long term future or short term wins

Grade a mentalists
