Transfer Rumours and Deals - Winter Window 2016/17

Frank Lampard would be a revelation in Scotland just like Joey Barton was.... Ohhhh, wait.... :D

Seriously though, I have watched a number of Lampard's games in the MLS this season and he is still quality - though he does have Pirlo beside him and David Villa ahead of him which makes the game much easier with that type of quality.

But why would Lampard come to Rangers when he is getting in excess of $5 million a season in MLS ?

Not taking Rangers into account he is leaving the MLS anyway wherever he goes.

The Transfer Tavern, much like HITC, is a place for rumour mongering of the highest degree. Interestingly, the lack of imagination when it comes to chosing the right words is frightening ...

Anyway, the waggon rolls on and tonight we can add Liam Kelly of Reading to the list:

Glasgow giants linked with Reading midfielder

Glasgow giants Rangers are being linked with a January transfer swoop for Reading midfielder Liam Kelly according to Get Reading.

The 20 year old Republic of Ireland born midfielder is out of contract with The Royals in the summer and while the Berkshire club hope to extend the player’s contract, a new deal has not yet been agreed.

It has now been reported that Scottish Premiership club Rangers may be considering a move for the player. The Gers manager Mark Warburton has signed a number of English based players during his time at the helm at Ibrox and the former Brentford boss could return to the SkyBet Championship once again for Reading midfielder Kelly.

The Republic of Ireland Under 21s international is a product of Reading’s academy system. The player has graduated to the first team set up at The Madejski Stadium and has made four appearances for The Royals this season.

Newly promoted Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers have made a solid start to their return to the top flight. The famous old club find themselves in third position in the table after losing just two of their opening 12 league matches this season. Rangers are playing in the Scottish Premiership for the first time since their controversial demotion back in 2012.

Interesting change of reporting in the last paragraph ...
