The Jambos, along with Aberdeen, missed out on Ross County’s in-demand Northern Ireland striker Liam Boyce, who opted instead for a switch to Championship Burton. Now they’ve rekindled their interest in his fellow countryman, Lafferty. The 29-year-old is available on a free after leaving Norwich City and had also been offered to city rivals Hibs, while he has more lucrative options overseas. But Hearts hope to tempt him to Tynecastle, aware of his apparent wish to return to Scotland.
