His agent would not do this without his permission so it looks like they're engineering his exit from the club. Terrible! I wasn't his biggest fan anyway, but I never doubted his commitment, and he could have left with his head held high. This is a sad end to his career, and I'm disappointed in him. He has served us well on many occasions.
