Theres also a big difference between aberdeens budget and ours. He bought 1 player in his time there and spends a 10th of what they do on wages. I think people are over playing a comment designed to protect his players after their first defeat in the league. Disagree. He went on to say rangers fans need to get with reality. He said teams with bigger budgets cannot be beaten. There was no ifs or buts about what he said. He said Rangers fans should accept getting beat and shouldn't expect to compete with celtic. When he comes to - just in case - he'll have 20odd different players at his disposal of a better quality than what he has now. Had his lot beaten us, which was, truth be told, very much on the cards 6 days ago, would we laud him for his greatness? A touch more perspective is required. NB: Just imagine we had slaughterd Accies due to the chances we created and had not been humbled by Dundee, we'd be 1 point behind the Scum ... who would want another manager? What's with you? How can you watch football for so long but still be completely incapable of seeing the wood for the trees He doesn't have a clue as a manager, just look at when we went down to ten men. He couldn't even take advantage of that. Several youth players and his only plan was put a big guy up against them??? Completely laughable. He played into the main strength of our young centre backs. Amateur level stuff really. Also since mccinnes has a track record of never using youth you can kiss goodbye to the young boys we've been watching lately. Mccinnes would never have played mccrorie as a holding mid, never in a million years. trublusince1982 243 Posted December 3, 2017 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Look!, I am not advocating Murty gets the job, whoever the new manager is will come in and have his own ideas on how we set up and play, that could have an negative effect on the team and performances, whereas Murty seems to have the respect of the players and he sets the team out his way and they react him, however he has just won two matches against DM sheep side!Atleast Murty knows the youth players inside out. That is the beauty of this game, it is utterly results-driven. Hence I don't give much on King's remark about this 3-year deal for the next manager, nor the weekly-changing attitudes towards certain people. For what it is worth I read the delay was that McInnes wants to bring his back-room staff and Rangers don't want them. If that is true then maybe they want Murty and JJ to stay as his assistants. He's just been outplayed, outfought & out thought by the Rangers U20 development coach And just what is it that stands out about McInnes? Sure he's led the sheep to 2nd place in the league consistently but that's mostly without Rangers in the league. And just one LC win in nearly five years at Pittodrie is hardly outstanding either is it? I believe we'd be best to stick with Murty for the time being just a little longer til the right candidate emerges.
