Should Lee Wallace automatically be handed the Captain's armband when/if he returns to the starting 11???

I think many of those that have worn the arm band since Waldo has been out have done so very well.  I thought Tav in recent weeks has done a great job.

Personally, I've always felt that Waldo is too quiet a person to be effective....we need someone who will shout & communicate to the other players when required.  Wallace's main strength is leading by example, which is not a bad thing, I he needs to be more vocal.

I have always thought too much emphasis is put on who the captain is! I always think every player should be able to do the same as any captain regards playing, organising, leading and communicating, however Wallace is the club captain so why should he not get the arm band when he returns?.

Wallace stood by the club through the darker times and I think he deserves some loyalty in return.  However, I don't think it makes a lot of difference really.  I'd like 11 of them on the park who act like captains, regardless of who has the arm band.

We need someone more vocal and assertive,not giving him it back does seem unfair but I think if he would be able to concentrate more on his playing attributes.

I'm inclined to vote No as I think that Wallace's place as a first choice player and, thus, as captain needs to be re-earned.

 

That's not a reflection of the reasonable contribution he's made in his time here - just a realistic appraisal of his regular unavailability over the last 12-24months.

Tavernier should be given the armband full time now. He has just signed his new contract, is the first name on the team sheet and his shoulders ar broad enough.

I struggle to listen to Wallace now, when he is interviewed I am constantly reminded of our failures over the last few years.

I'm not convinced we have a standout Barry Fergusion type captain. Someone who is always on his game and takes the responsibility on himself to organise the rest of the team and keep them in order throughout the game.

 

Rossiter looked like he did that at his level at England and Liverpool so it's disappointing he hasn't stayed fit in order for him to eventually do it here.
