Our midfield in the next match

So!

After Hibs’ loss to Hearts, Rangers all but secured their European place thanks to their superior goal difference.

Only an unlikely defeat of six goals or more at Easter Road on Sunday would see Gers finish the season fourth.

Jimmy Nicholl’s side will secure second if Aberdeen lose to Celtic and they take a point at Easter Road.

Aberdeen are guaranteed a place in the Europa League qualifiers with one game to play.

A win on the final day at Celtic will guarantee the Dons second spot.

However they could slip to third if they lose at Parkhead and Rangers get at least a point at Easter Road.

If the Dons lost at Parkhead, a Rangers draw against Hibs on Sunday would see the pair finish on 70 points – with the Reds dropping to third on goal difference.

Hibs look almost certain to finish fourth after losing the final Edinburgh derby of the season.

Only a win of six goals or more against Rangers at Easter Road on Sunday would see Neil Lennon’s side finish above the Ibrox side on goal difference.

Aberdeen are guaranteed a place in the Europa League qualifiers with one game to play.

Should Hibs fail to turn around the massive goal difference on the final day against Rangers, they would need Celtic to beat Motherwell in the Scottish Cup Final to secure a place in Europe.

How surprising that Hearts can beat them but the yahoos in a game that reeked of fix from the get go can't. Then again it's not surprising at all. What will be surprising is if the yahoos beat the sheep.

Whatever. We're in Europe and that's a platform for Gerrad to build from. And hopefully it's never as close cut as that again.

I'm not worried about our midfield for the Hibs game.  Docherty, Goss and Holt will do a job there.  My concern is that Morelos isn't playing.  I like Cummings but not in the system we play so I just can't see where our goals will come from.  I know Morelos hasn't been scoring of late, but he creates so much for us and we will miss him.

It took them almost a week or so to figure it out.

Hibs at home to the Scum, so Hibs can snatch 3 points and close the gap to us. - Check!

Scum get their home game against us to secure the title. - Check!

Thomson to get his Old Firm send-off. Check!

Making sure we lose important players for the last game/-s. - Check!

Scum get two home games as their final ones. - Check!

We get two away games against the direct competitors as our final games. Check!

What are the bets that we start away from home against Aberdeen, Hibs and the Scum next season, so we'll face them all at home after the split next season?

And it all blows up in their faces due to Hearts refusing to get with the agenda despite the fact they had nothing to play for. And incidentally after tonights game apparently Lennon said in a post match interview that he has to think things over regarding being with hubz next season.

Probably sinking in that it's a dead end and that this season was the best he will ever get there.

Neil Lennon could sensationally quit Hibernian after branding his players as "unprofessional"

The squad looks like:

Goal: Alnwick, Kelly

Defence: Tavernier, Martin, Bates, Cardoso, Alves

Midfield: Candeias, Holt, Goss, Docherty, Halliday, Rossiter, Dalcio, Murphy, Dodoo, O'Halloran, Barjonas, Middleton, Atakayi

Strikers: Cummings, Herrera, Rudden

I would assume that we play the same system as we always do, as for some reason our managers lack a certain flexibility. Will we risk Cummings at their midden to lead our attack and score the goals that end their hopes of Europe? Can't see that.

Thus ... either a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 ...

Alnwick

Tavernier - Martin - Bates - Halliday

Holt - Goss - Docherty

Candeias - Herrera - Murphy

or

Alnwick

Tavernier - Martin - Bates - Halliday

Holt - Goss

Candeias - Murphy - Dodoo

Herrera

Not sure whether Goss and Holt alone will be a good option against the likes of McGinn and McGeough.

I'm just glad the Euro pressure is off and I can watch it without the nail biting tension it would otherwise have been. Might even make for a better last outing since the pressure of missing out on Europe has been lifted from the team and they can concentrate on simply impressing Gerrard.

As for Gerrard what a feather it will be in his cap if he can return Euro nights to Ibrox beyond the Summer holidays. The ideal start to his tenure.

Murphy in the Dorrans advanced position and put Glen Middleton on the wing.

Went to the U20 friendly v Burnley on Sunday and Middleton was by far the most impressive Rangers player on the pitch.
