I reckon the Compliance Officer position would be better if it came with a fixed term of say 2 or 3 years.

As long as the appointment is not another Celtic plant, transparency required on any future placements.

Unlike the position of Compliance Officer, of course, accession to the throne of St Peter does not have possession and regular use of a season ticket to the piggery as a sine qua non of appointment
