Gribz 743 Posted May 5, 2007 Share Posted May 5, 2007 Rangers have confirmed that midfielder Gavin Rae will not be offered a new contract in the summer. The 29-year-old midfielder has been stand-in captain this season whenever Barry Ferguson has been unavailable. But Rae had said in March that he did not expect to be offered another deal by manager Walter Smith. Rae, capped 11 times for Scotland, joined Rangers from Dundee in January 2004 but has made just 38 appearances during an injury-hit time in Glasgow. Thats 1 donkey away, about 3 to go. Ok he got a nasty injury which is never nice but he just doesnt have the abililty to play for Rangers. But fair play to him as he always showed committment and had a good attitude especially during the Ferguson / PLG saga as he was put in the difficult situation by being made captian and then got it taken away from him. WS picked him for the european games so he must've thought he could've done a job yet he's releasing him on a free!?!?!?!?
