Rangers 1 - 1 Kilmarnock

Recommended Posts

We won comfortably at Rugby Park. We created numerous opportunities, took four of them, the officials awarded three.

However, I imagine most Gersnetters are aware of the calendar year statistic, Killie have secured more League points than every other team. Their last Ibrox appearance was a hard fought, deserved 1-0 victory for the good guys. I think it was a late goal by David Bates. Further, they have gained a reputation as the comeback kings. If we score first, the effort must endure until we secure a second and third. A victory and three points takes us above Killie. There has got to be give in Edinburgh too.

Let's grab the chance presented to improve our League position, the immediate games should allow us to secure that improvement too.

Great post Pete, Sunday is still a bit raw, I can't believe we never made the final. As you say, need to dust ourselves down and get on with it.

I thought Barasic was going to be fit for Wednesday, I think we need to get him back in the team asap, the overlap from the fullbacks was a big part of our game and with tav off the boil a wee bit it would have been good to have barasic fit, as everyone has stated, Flanagan doesn't offer that type of option going forward, plus he is playing on his weaker side, on a side note, I still think he is a good solid defender.

If Barasic is fit for me it's 433

                               Mcgregor

Tavernier      Goldson       Katic       Barasic

                 Ejaria         Jack           Arfield

  Middleton             Morelos                 Kent

Killie will be a tough game, I would be happy with a 1-0 right now just to get the points on the board.

Don't think Tav has gone off the boil he is still playing well but needs to be relieved of taking every bloody dead ball kicks as he is just woeful at that just now.

Surely with all the training facilities at our disposable more Tav are training in dead ball stuff?.

It's not that bad Mac, but he maybe just needs to take a breath, the thing that's been good about our right side is the partnership between tav and candias, candias has been a bit off the last few games as well, I think the international break came at the wrong time for us, so we maybe need to mix it up a bit to get folk back on their toes again.

The free kicks and corners need to be shared around if the primary taker is having an off day. The deadball has been a curse for us for a fair number of years I couldn't tell you the last time we had a deadball specialist.

Just now, Frankie said:

I'm kind of hoping Grezda starts as we really need to get him fit and sharp.

I think Halliday might also play left back.

No minutes against Aberdeen when deperately needing creativity doesn't suggest SG has him high in the pecking order.

That said he did get on before Middleton against Spartak.

You get the feeling he's always going to come short this season. Maybe he can do a mini pre-season in the Xmas break.
