However, it has sadly been confirmed that Jim died today. Older Gersnetters will recall how after John Greig stepped down as Rangers manager in 1983 McLean had agreed to take over from him only to change his mind. McLean was undoubtedly one of the best Scottish coaches of his era. I know we dont get on well with DUFC at the moment but he was amazing. He also swore at him. The BBC did not defend its journalist, and no charges were pressed.
