Thirty years ago next month Graeme Souness left Rangers to go to Liverpool but Walter stayed behind to become Rangers manager to achieve success like we’ll probably never see again. As well as 9IAR he almost led Rangers to the first ever CL final losing out to Marseille under the most dubious circumstances (L’affaire OM). He returned in 2007 and more success followed including a UEFA cup final appearance and 3 titles before he retired in 2011. A magnificent Rangers manager. A true legend.
