BBC: Lineker, Shearer, Lampard and Rio.

ITV: Pougatch, Keane, Neville, Wright (and Emma Hayes pitch-side).

ITV it is -- at least there's a semblance of objectivity and insight, there.

Definitely. I quite like Ian Wright so with Keane its an easy 2-0 win for ITV.

I kind of thought Southgate would switch to 3 centre halves, its says he is cautious at minimum against a good opposition.

Poor from Italy but strong from England. The physical size difference is glaring and making a big difference. Mancini should have spotted it very early that Shaw and Trippier are in acres of space.

I can only see England scoring again in the second half with no reply.

This is a typical England performance: they actually create bugger all, yet nick a goal through bad defending.

They started well, but I think that was down to a poor Italy.

Tell me a fellow Classicist - that put one over my head - is not one of those anti England ones. England have pressed immensely well, they’ve created the only real chance and made it count. By far the better side so far. The number of times Tripier has been open if they had a Goldson. If only he was English.

I must be blind.

I've seen England create nothing, with Italy creating several, albeit half, chances.

England have been like this all tournament. Create bugger all, yet nick goals and defend well.

At some point I'll need to concede that they're a better side than I think.
