[FT] Celtic 4 - 0 Rangers

Recommended Posts

Not a lot of pace on the field, nor on the bench.

It looks like we will be boxing on the back foot, which can work as a tactic, but not one with which I am always comfortable.

Ceding a lot of possession and territory gives me the jitters, as it relies on a very, very low error count, forced or unforced.

As in most OF games I've watched, tempo and energy will be the deciding factor. Start slow, lose fast.

This is the problem in trying to contain.

Walter's sides bucked that trend but the individual quality and defensive organisation we had back then was excellent.

Celtic will probably expect us to sit back initially so let's push a slightly higher line and take the game to them. As Bill said earlier, tempo is key.

Last week Argentina deservedly beat the All Blacks.

This week NZ ruined them 53-3.

Moral - last week means nothing. So cheer up lads. Get wired in and it’s victory to the Famous.

I can see no reason why Rangers should expect to do anything other than win this game today. The "opposition" has played no one of any account yet and has proven nothing. We have and against far better teams than them.

Tempo is the one reason I've occasionally doubted Kamara. He's a good player no doubt but he does tend to slow things down going forward. For that reason alone I'd rather have started Arfield in place of Kamara.
