For a player trading model to work well, it needs young players with obvious potential to come in and perform well at first team level. That can be through your own programme (Paterson) or poaching them from others (Bassey). Young players with their career in front of them. King has already been on the radar of big clubs and doesn't seem to be phased by Queen of the South or Napoli. A good season or so and he would bring in a decent wedge, if we manage his contract well. This is the key part of the player trading model. Teams are more interested in Pattersons and Basseys. They want to see upside and potential. They will pay for it. That's why Tav, Kent and Alfredo are still here. I've posted on here before get King/Lowry in the team, if they get about the Scotland squad we will make money on these guys. We need to bring through or poach real quality. Not forgetting to push the physical aspect as much as possible (not a coincidence that Bassey and Paterson were big and fast). Boxers have 'tuneup' fights. NBA has the 'D League' MLB, the minor leagues. NFL has the 'Practice Squad'. Apparently the SPL has... "F***k you buddy". He looks as if he compliments Goldson quite well. Goldson's performance has improved in kind further showing Davie's competence. Lots of games to go, but a bright start.
