I watched about sixty minutes of the argies last night just to see Messi he is just an old fashioned inside forward reminiscent of the wee prime minister does the simple thing and does it exceedingly well .

I thought the very same. There was a twenty minute spell in the second half when it was vintage Ian McMillan. Just the way he could bend away from his markers and be clear with the ball in two strides. You can’t coach that.

also his ability to see the spaces ahead of him and make use of them a treat to watch

Think France will be too good for them. MaGuire and Stones will implode at some point

Yes they are meeting a real team now that group is finished and they got past a team that qualifying from their own group was their biggest achievment.

They are the weak links, right enough but otherwise England are more efficient than the rest. Some of the rest, though, have the capability of occasional brilliance which might be enough to undo them and the opposition so far hasn’t been up to much.

It will be some achievement to beat this French side and I don't think England are up to it.

England have done well.  Most of their fans see the scoreline yesterday but ignore the fact that Senegal had the upper hand until the first goal and were it not for Pickford's wonder save the game could have been very, very different.  This French team will likely have the lion's share of the possession and their front 4 are scary good.  Giroud just scores wherever he plays and seems to score every time he lines up for France, Dembele has been unplayable at times in this tournament, Griezmann is playing just behind them and dictating the play - and we don't even need to mention what Mbappe can do.

England certainly have a chance, but France look so strong across the whole team.  Their back 5 are solid and Rabiot has had an excellent tournament so far too.
